If you look at the air quality analysis of a populated city, IMO the air we breath can kill you. On high smog day's people go outside in masks, and some people will not go out at all. As far as vaping flavors, I do not know what the long term effects will be. I believe do believe however, that if there were some negative effects of flavoring being vaped on the body there would be at least some evidence of it. I know that vaping is still "new" but if someone were to use analogs for 5 years on a daily bases there would be some negative impact to their health. If anything, ivaping has improved the quality of life for people who were on analogs. I will not say that it is 100 % safe, but I do humbly believe that its is 99% safer then smoking.

Agree. But diacetyls are dare I say a bit like asbestos, and the harm appears much later. Very unusual. One feels it if breathe tar, monoxide, etc, or allergies to colors or PG, but there a few silent killers and those are the dangerous ones. Diacetyls are the only thing that falls into that category that i know of. 99% safer? Sure thing.

Whatever are you vaping !? ;)

When it finally dawns that we;re entering (a natural) ice age, that'll be blamed on vaping ...

...who really knows BUT, when vaping in the dark, there is a strange(and somewhat pretty) blue light about my fingers...could this be the cause of it all?????hmmmmmmmmm

For most people, vaping is an alternative to smoking cigarettes. Most of us have tried quitting smoking several times over the years and have been unsuccessful. For many, vaping is something that can either help people cut down on their smoking, or help them quit smoking analogs all together.

Is vaping totally safe? I have no idea. I know that after 20 years of smoking I felt like crap. I also know that after only a couple of weeks vaping I feel a million times better, and just keep feeling better every day.

I would never promote vaping to someone who wasn't a smoker. I don't know if e-cigs are 100% safe, but I also doubt that anything we ingest or inhale is 100% safe. Without any long-term studies, I'm willing to be one of the canaries in the mine, and just listen to what my body's telling me. I'm a big girl of sound mind, and I accept the consequences.

If I wasn't vaping, I'd be smoking, and I know with 100 percent certainty that smoking kills.

take the Canadian Agents word with a grain of salt. Canada is on a witch hunt just like NYC on e-cigs, anything they tell you will have heavy propaganda. I stopped smoking analog cigarettes back in March of 2009, since then I was able to finally pick up latin dancing without coughing my lungs out or passing out in the corner, and I vape HEAVILY at high voltage with high nicotine.

Whatever damage vaping may cause, cigarette smoking will always be the greater evil of the two.

One analysis of mainstream vapor showed it to be 66% water
I just checked, if water in the air of my bath room would condense at the cold surface of my single glass window. Positive confirmation ;)
rolygate’s post referred to this early, 2007 Crown7 report, where e-cig vapor was drawn through an ice-cold trap. Report authors have not documented how they corrected for the inevitably condensing air moisture. Just forget about a report where limitations of the experimental setup have not been accounted for.

I talked with a Health Canada agent this week who told me that there is no long term study demonstrating this habit has no consequence.

There is also no long term study demonstrating that this habit *does* have those horrible consequences that he wants you to believe it has.

But all of the stuff used - PG, VG, food flavoring, and nicotine, are pretty well known. Nicotine is certainly the biggest risk item in that list, but it isn't a carcinogen.

To me, the question isn't "is it 100% safe" at all. To me, the question is "Is it significantly healthier than smoking tobacco". And the answer to that is pretty clear.

In the near future some lab mice are going to be getting some mass amounts of vapor.

Why does it always have to be mice? Couldn't they use another life form? Personally I"d rather see them experiment on government bureaucrats. All this testing just seems like a waste of mice to me.

They'll subject the mice to the equivalent of one of us sitting in a pressurized vessel for 6 years straight, breathing vapor at 97% saturation in the air, then make a decision from that. Remember saccharin?

Were all going to die some day. I perfer to die on my own terms not what some one else dictates!!!:vapor::vapor:

I'm with you.

I also get a kick out of the people going "It hasn't been proven to be safe, there may be risks, we just are not sure", who then get in their automobile and drive home, spewing smog behind them, and risking the most common cause of accidental death in the world.
