I am having problems with my kanger protank 2. When i put it onto my battery and try to fire the battery blinks 3 times which to my understanding means that it is shorting out. I tried replacing the atty inside the tank with no luck. What can i do to make my protank work again because i really dont want to throw it out. also my battery works fine with my evod so i dont think its a problem with me battery

Also take the head out of the protank and look near the white rubber grommet. If the positive or negative wire is sticking out slightly push it back under the grommet with your thumb nail. If any of those wires are exposed and touch the base of the tank when screwed in it could cause a short and make your battery blink. Hope this helps

Better yet, get a pair of nail clippers and snip it off. When rebuilding coils, this is a common issue. A bit of either leg sticks out and causes a short.

The other possible cause is a bad connection between the center pin of the battery and the base of the coil.

Assuming you got the correct heads for your PT, if you look at the 510 connector end you will see there isn't a lot of clearance or difference between the height of the 510 threads and the base of the coil extending longer than the 510 threading. It is or should be proud of the 510 threading - but just barely. The only time I've had a problem like you describe was when a coil wasn't fully screwed into the PT base, so the center of the coil wasn't making contact with the center post on the battery. Try backing off the coil a bit and screwing it down onto the PT base again.

If that doesn't work, there is a chance that too much fiddling - screwing things on harder and harder to "fix" the problem - has pushed the center post of the battery down. You could be at the point where the 510 threading on the PT is now making contact with both the threading and the center post of the battery, causing a short. You will need to pull the center post of the battery up a bit to correct that.
