This seems like a good thread to vent in. I ordered some Capellas flavorings a couple weeks ago and paid for priority shipping. It clearly says $5.95 PRIORITY shipping at checkout, that's the only option and on invoice I received in my order. Well guess how it shows up a week and a half later! FIRST CLASS MAIL! On top of that I ordered some juice from DinosaurVapor over 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't showed up, but I think he didn't send it.

Priority Mail is for packages, First Class mail is for letters. There is no difference in delivery time between them.

The term "Priority Mail" is an illusion, and is nothing more than a public relations phrase used by the post office in a feeble attempt to compete with the likes of Federal Express and UPS overnight mail and their 2 day delivery offerings.

The deciding factor in Priority Mail is the different efficiency levels of certain clearing facilities along the routes. That is why I, in Houston, might get a package from Las Vegas in 2 days, but a package from St. Louis in 5 days. "Priority Mail" is a phrase used by a government-subsidized business, so you have to put it all in perspective.

One thing I have found out for USPS is their tracking to be way off.

Its because its not a tracking # its a delivery confirmation # and thats all its meant to do, confirm delivery..

Also I used to work at the PO and we had the right to defer mail if we had large volumes that day.. Priority mail ALWAYS had to go out and could not be deferred. First Class and Parcel post could be deferred for several days.

Lol to that one. Jayhawks nailed it right on the head.
I lived in an upstairs apartment, once they (UPS) just chucked it (my new graphics card) up onto the balcony where it landed in a fresh pile of dog poo..left to bake in the 110 degree Vegas summer.8-o

Are there any suppliers that ship with UPS?

I would definitely take USPS over UPS any day.

With the exception of one package from one vendor that still hasn't shown up yet, I have gotten all of my packages through USPS within 3-4 days of placing my order whether it was sent first class or priority.

I haven't gotten any e-cig related stuff through UPS but I hope I never do as most times I have ordered something that came through them in the past it has been nothing but headaches. Either takes twice as long as it is supposed to or gets left at a neighbors house because the driver is to lazy to even check the number on the house he is going to.

The only packages I've ever gotten faster than USPS was when starting in with e-cigs and getting my first couple orders. That vendor uses Fed-Ex and my orders were on my doorstep within 24 hours of them leaving the vendor without paying for overnight shipping. Of course they are only one state away.

UPS once delivered a parcel to my stock room that was supposed to contain a 10" Titanium coated wheel it was delivered with about 30 other packages. When we went to recieve it it became apparent it was re sealed after coming open. It contained a large flea market type Chinese bottle Jack. All we could figure was that both packages came open and they just stuck what ever they found in the first package they came to.
Was a hassle getting re embursed for it.I just imagine someone going how am i supposed to lift something with this wheel?

Consider yourself lucky. My order from Capellas never showed even though it was supposedly "delivered" through First Class mail. Mailman must've screwed up, and one of my less-than honest neighbors is probably enjoying the delicious selection of six different flavors in their coffee each morning. Called USPS and they started an "inquiry" and said they would call or email me with 48 hours. Well the 48 hours just ran out today and no call or email so far.

I live in a condo with locked mailboxes that they leave a key in for lockboxes that hold the parcels - so the mailman probably put the key in someone else's mailbox.

I count my blessings though, because I've recently had a lot of other more expensive stuff delivered through USPS without problems. I wonder what one of my neighbors would have done with the 250ml bottle of 60mg nic if they had got their thieving hands on it! 8-o

As a shipper here's the difference for priorirty and first class in my intepretation:

Priorirty Mail -- can be envelopes, packages and flat rate boxes, 2-3 day delivery.. (3-5 for Alaska and Hawaii)

First Class -- Up to 7 day delivery, envelopes and packages up to 14 ounces, then you either get forced to parcel post(up to 14 days delivery) or priority mail service because the cost of 14+ oz is venturing into the priority mail small flat rate box price..

The Confirmation number you get is not a tracking #.. It is purely a delivery confirmation number.. You can get it for anything sent through USPS.

You may see intermittent tracking information but it is unlikely..

Usually tracking at the USPS website shows electronic delivery informtion received and then nothing else until the package arrives or it's out for delivery from your local PO.

This is typical unless the shipper uses a 'scan' form. The 'scan' form summarizes all the outbound packages and will show that the PO has actually received your package if the 'scan' form is scanned by a postal employee..

Most do not use the scan form. If your shipper is dropping off packages after hours the scan form is useless.

The only way for the scan form to work is to bring it and the parcels to the PO and see a clerk who will then scan it..

Some postal carriers supposedly have the capability to scan in a 'scan' form if you have scheduled pickup but mine does not..
