I'm also venturing in. To make it simple and safe, I just ordered a gallon of 50/50, 6 mg unflavored... that way I don't have to worry about dangerous liquid in the house. There's definitely a learning curve even with the pre-measured nicotine - so far my only true success has been menthol. Good luck!

I'm just getting into DIY and ruined my first attempt with a flavor that sugar, corn syrup, highfructose...found out that is a no-no. I only wasted I think it was 10 or 3 ml unflavored.

I'm with you and not sure I'm comfortable buying 100 mg nicotine just yet while I'm learning. Do you know of cheap venders that will sell you unflavored x mg/ml say at around 500 ml rather than buying nicotine, pg, vg separately? My point of diving into the DIY is cheapness and I'm sure it's more expensive that route but figure I'll do that first until I'm comfortable.

I'm not too worried about working with the 100mg/ml nicotine- worked in labs and did research when I was just out of college... I am having a hard time finding the nic. I will hit a few more sights tonight.

What I am concerned about is collecting a dozen plus flavors, pg, vg, 30ml bottles, 10ml bottles, pipettes, another dripper atty, gloves, another dozen flavors, more nic, more flavors, and still trying to come up with something which I am satisfied.

Might want to start with something that is usually good on the first try then.

Capella's Sweet Tangerine at 15%.

Mix with a good PG and/or VG and some nicotine from Nude Nic or My Freedom Smokes to your target nic level, shake and vape.

Most of Cap's flavorings are easy to work with. They are usually difficult to overflavor with. (I explain overflavoring in my blog on flavoring levels since it's not intuitive and I know I screwed with overflavoring for quite awhile before I figured it out.)

What kinds of flavors do you vape now?
Some folks will have suggestions for relatively easy recipes based on your preferred taste.

My fist mix was S I M P L E and convinced me DIY was worthwhile
(TFA "Doubly RY4" flavoring, at 15%, at my 18 mg/ml nic = perfectly tasty RY4 juice. I made a post titled "that was STUPID easy".)
(Note: I let it steep for almost 4 minutes, before I vaped some)

You should be able to get nic any time. So far.
WizardLabs runs out, but you could try MyFreedomSmokes.com or RTSVapes.com or OneStopDIYShop.com for Nic and flavors and accessories you might still need....

Two of the three that I would like to start with are caramel apple, and cinnamon roll.

What I may have a harder time with is a good tobacco flavor. My wife found one at the B&M that is really quite good. I didn't vape tobacco flavors, because everything I found was pretty unpleasant. I like this one, and would really like to be able to come close to it. It is called "Lights", but is very vaguely sweet, smooth, and maybe a floral hint. That one may take me some time.

I need to check out Hoosiers blog...

I'll be following you into the rabbit hole (again) soon..just ordered my flavours today from ECigExpress:
Signature Sweetener
Lorann Champagne
FlavourArt Lime Tahiti
FlavourArt Peach
Nature's Flavors Peach
Cappellas Cappuchino
Cappellas Lemon/Lime
FlavorWest Sour
And a 125ml of Flavorless 24mg nic base from MyFreedomSmokes.

I really love my normal juice vendor but 60.00+ a month for juice is not really cost effective..plus, I was still winding up without juice toward the end of the month and having to vape some other "put-away" juices that I'd rather not vape, lol
I love the Peaches and the lemon-lime bubbly vapes.
I am hoping that I can duplicate the carbonation effects that I have tasted in some juices.
Prior to this i only tried DIY once - when I first started vaping...it was some unflavored nic base and some either TFA or TPA lemon.
It tasted like I was vaping a lemon candle...don't know what happened there but hopefully it doesn't happen again, lol
Lawd hep me

This is where I got my 100 MG nic from. :)

I really like ecigexpress. I started with strawberry and banana, then made way to more exotic flavors, using pie crust and black walnut, just to name a couple.

If you like to cook, you will Love DIY.

LOL...that's why I'm hoping for some divine intervention in my DIY.....I love to eat, HATE to cook :D

That'll change sooner than you think. I felt the same way about it, and started shopping for larger quantities of 100mg after less than a month. Pay attention to safety, work in a well ventilated environment, and make sure you can stay focused while you work.

For those that are just starting, do yourselves a favor and limit the number of new flavors you buy at first. Pick out a couple of recipies that have good reviews, buy the ingredients, and get to it! I say this 'cause I found a flavor I really like after about a month of experimenting. I now have 40 or so flavor bottles that are getting dusty while my ADV gets remixed week after week.

One thing I do with my DIY that I am going to put out there for those considering starting up.

I use 30 mL bottles and the first time I mix up a new flavor I like (after testing) I mix up TWO 30 mL bottles. Then when I use up one of the two bottles I mix another. That way I always have one steeping while the other is being used.

I intended to read the whole thread.....got lazy.....
My take(which might be completely off the mark cuz I didn't read it....lol)

I can underwhelm myself with some subpar juice......I don't need to pay a "pro" to underwhelm me.......
Having said that (and THAT is what pushed me to DIY).....

Don't discount your ability to create something vapeable.....
I spend about a Nickle/ml...at 33mg......it absurd to pay what vendors want.....

To be honest however.....my crap is down and dirty tobaccos......but they work for me.
I admit that sweet/fruity or whatever might need more care....
But DIY.....cuz it's fun and thearaputic
