I was just curious about this. when I smoke with my e-cig it just relieves the cravings to smoke a real cigarette. On the other hand real cigs have always given me this high / lightheaded feeling that I always enjoyed. I miss it but the health benefits overweight the feeling too much to go back. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is attributed the the nicotine content (I'm using 24's) or the other chemicals in cigarettes?

You don't say which e-cig you are using.. but if 24 mg is not doing it for you.. then check out totally wicked for the higher level juice. I have used analogs for 47 years and I find that I prefer the e-cig. Forget all the usual reasons.. smell, ashes, etc.... I have tried analogs after my e-cig experience and I dont like analogs anymore... they are just not tasty. Yes I use a tobacco juice so it is not some flavor thing. If you were getting light headed, etc., then you were getting lots and lots of nicotine... bump up your juice or vape a bit more. You can get enough nicotine to make you dizzy if you really want at 24mg.. but why...

Anyway.. experiment.. this is all so new.. we are on the edge here... we are the pioneers.. what you discover and share may help the next person find freedom from analogs.

24mg is pretty high..maybe you are missing the othe 3.999 ingrediants in analogs. You can go higher, but I would wait to see if this is the problem. Vaping is not the same as smoking! Your body will catch up with your brain pretty soon and I am willing to bet the head rush will follow. Hang in there for a bit.
I am glad you are giving this a try! You won't regret it.

Hey Knifesideleft,

Usually, that "head-rush" feeling is attributed to the blast of carbon monoxide/lack of oxygen effect of analogs. Although, I did miss that feeling at first when I switched to vaping, I don't miss it anymore, fortunately.

That said, though, I have read, according to some vapers who've tried very high nicotine concentrations (36 mg +), that they get a similar rush at times. Be aware, however; vaping the strong stuff can be risky, so proceed with all due caution.

Best,

Jherek

I'm using the 510. I wouldn't say it was a dizzy feeling but I used to smoke up to a pack a day of Marb Reds and I'd suck them back in 3 minutes. After waking up and grabbing a new one the cigarette would feel like it hit me and it would be a very relaxing feeling that I don't seem to experience with these. Although there are a few thosand more chemicals in cigs that could be doing it. That or possibly e-cigs doing bring on that hit as quick, just slowly over a longer period of time that I don't notice. I probably spend 10x longer smoking my 510 then a Marb. Anyway I'm probably going to kick it up to the highest strength and see how that goes. If it doesn't work out no big deal though, I can already breath 10 times better then I used to.

What Jherek said.

That rush is carbon monoxide cutting off oxygen from your brain and probably killing brain cells in the process! :(

And the b*zz from extra high nicotine is NOT a good thing either - it often coincides with a high heart rate and nausea - not good signs. Probably nicotine poisoning - I wouldn't risk it!! :nah:

I dont get the headrush I used to with analogs as much. Though I constantly vape 26mg nic juice, to the point that the first and second day I felt a little nauseated. I haven't felt bad in the last 3 days though just cool and collected like zen, lol. In the mornings I get a rush similar to that cig rush but not the exact same.

How many analogs per day did you smoke. The only time I'd get a head rush from analogs is if I didn't have any for a while - airplane rides... but I smoked 3 packs a day. If I'd only smoke say 10 cigarettes a day I may have gotten a head rush on everyone of those ;-) If you didn't smoke that much it's probably that. If you did, then the carbon monoxide theory is a good one, I suppose but again, I never experienced the head rush on 3packs/day. Never cared for it much either for that matter. There are better highs if that's what you're aiming at. ;-)

I just had to respond to this one. In the beginning I had issues with not enough throat hit or lung feel, but upping the nic helped that a lot ( use a 510). Anyhow the only thing that was missing was that light headed feeling, which I found easily by holding in a hit now and then. True I think it is from lack of oxygen, so creating the same effect by holding in the hit longer will do it, a nice big deep hit. I rarely do it anymore because I've vaped so long that I lost the desire for the lightheaded feeling.
Just wanted to pass that little trick along because it does help when getting used to the new e-cig.
Now the only issue is battery and liquid. Going out for just a night requires a handful of batteries, pockets get filled up with too much, it can be a hassle.

Happy Vapin to ya

In your bushes, watching you undress
I remember that first morning cigarette. The mild light-headedness, slightly dizzying at times. BUt I also remember feeling the energy draining from me after that first smoke making me sometimes nearly lethargic.

Here are are other things "missing" from switching over...

That smell on my clothes, in my hair, on my breath
Limited lung capacity
"Runner's high" from simply walking up one flight of stairs, winded beyond belief
Lack of energy and ambition
Having to wrap up like an eskimo every 15 minutes to smoke outside in -30 degree temperatures
Feeling like some sort of terrorist if I smoked outdoors in public
Yellow teeth
Spending $5 per pack, and that pack lasted sometimes half a day
Running out of smokes in the middle of the night when I'm settled in. Having to get up, get dressed, go out and buy smokes
Having to get fully dressed, go downstairs and smoke outside after sex
Having to leave good conversation with friends at a retaurant because I HAD to go outside and smoke after a meal
Nearly going into convulsions on a long flight or drive with non-smokers in their car
Unknowingly buying a pack of completely stale cigarettes. Only know when you lit one up and felt sick all day because of it
Lighting the wrong end not paying attention. Damn filters taste terrible when lit on fire & inhaled
Hearing that "POP" sometimes. Knowing that POP was the sound of a tobacco beetle egg burning on the cherry

Yeah, I don't miss smoking at all actually :D

I can relate........I've got a 401. I've been off analogs 4 days now. I smoked 2pks/day for 33yrs. Seems like the first 2 days I missed that hit. It may be post partum, with me anyway. I've figured out how to take hits or drags that count. It's a little tricky at first, and the more I practice the less thought I put into it, and it is becoming more natural to me. I use 18mg and found myself chasing that hit. By the evening I was a tad bit nauseated. I liked smoking analogs, I don't want to quit, but my body says it time to change. I like vapeing, I've just ordered 11mg so I can vape more and not feel overdosed, If I feel like I'm going to go bonkers I'll have an analog. So far, I haven't been that close. I'll drip one, or put in a fresh cart, take a walk, and think about the positves of being analog free. Then the insanity of that hit subsides, then I get some good hits off my 401. Life is good..........Anyway, just my 2 cents which is really valued now at -6 cents LOL. Hope this helps some...............
