tnt56, I have read many of your posts and participated in quite a few threads that you have been in. I read about your assignment change and I'm sure that is quite stressful. While we haven't been formally introduced,I have a feeling you are a really decent person . I hope the camaraderie here can help lift your spirits some.
Thanks for reaching out. It's a good way to let go of feelings that weigh you down.
As for myself,I am happy to have this forum and the sharing individuals that frequent it .

No cats for me. I'll take a German Shepard any day. I sure miss her.

Even better than cats...... German shepherds!

I grew up with them myself and know how terrible it is to lose them. Chin up- tomorrow is another day my friend.

Tripple digits half way to home
After all today is the first day of the rest of our lives
I found out today that the local shop will hire me if I do lose my job. Cash in the retirement pay off the car and I'm good. I don't need lots of money. House is paid for just normal bills. At this point in my life I'm tired of fighting them. I spent 27 years and 5 months doing a job in a factory. I was a Senior Maintaince Total Technician. 5 months before i could retire they canned me. Reduction due to head count. Found another job and it was great. Working for the STATE. Retirement and all the free benifits I could hope for. I'm tired of fighting. I just don't care anymore. I'm vested in the retirement and monday I'll find out what I've got in it. I don't need much. I've been blessed with more than I'll ever need. I'm just to old and tired to fight them anymore. I just want to be happy. AGAIN.. My sweetie and I talked about it till 1am this morning and she's good with it. So Screw em. If I get fired then I draw unemployment. There are always other jobs out there. Sorry I'm just to that point in all of this.

Sorry about your rough time -forgive my bad typing, I have lost the use of most of my punctuation on the keyboard :(

I just wanted to offer encouragement. I truly believe we get pushed along to something better. The last job I had fired me for -incompetence and yet the next job loves me. I also get more pay and I just love what I am doing now. Dont worry - it might take a little time to fill in the details. But I have had many experiences where I thought I was getting the worst and instead I got the better of the deal. So I know it's all down to a little faith that everything comes out better in the end. Even if we cant see out way just now.

Hang in there. Look forward to what is to come - its sounds like your sweetie will be right on board and that alone is so priceless. -I just love a good love story :)

TNT, you and I have shared a few laughs on this forum. I can testify that life is too short to work at a job you hate. I did it for 25 years. I was trapped by a high paying job that I hated but thought I couldn't afford to leave. I eventually did leave it, and couldn't be happier.

Now, I actually wake up and look forward to going to work. In my old job, I woke up with a pit in my stomach every morning. Life is just too short.
