So I've been trying different flavors out to get a nice combination so I can once and for all get away from analogs. The reason for making this open to others input is because most of the flavors have been less than stellar. In no way should my opinion be taken as gospel for any newbies out there. Also I don't want to make it sound like V4L is not the place to shop. I just need some input from others to see if it's just me or if nic levels actually affect the flavors. So here goes...

5ml bottles,
Apple high- tastes like a jolly rancher. my favorite
Apple medium- tastes more sour like a now n later, not bad
Strawberry medium- my absolute fav, tastes just like a fresh strawberry
Pineapple medium- A hint of pineapple but actually made me a lil nausiated
555- tastes like peanuts but not bad it may grow on me
coffee medium- doesn't taste like coffee until after a refill
chocolate medium- doesn't taste like chocolate till after a refill

Cartomizers,
Cappuccino 18mg- tasted perfumy at first but became one of my favorites
Green tea 18mg- same as the cappuccino
White chocolate strawberry 11mg- one of my favs
Peanutbutter cup- tasted like peanuts, not bad
Whiskey 18mg- 1 puff, no more couldn't vape that one

tobacco shop sampler,
French pipe 16mg- like the whiskey but not as harsh
virginia 16mg- a little like the french pipe, similar taste just not as harsh
Kamel 16mg- tasted like I inhaled tire smoke at the race track
Cowboy 16mg- like kamel just not as harsh
Parliament 16mg- About the same as 555, not bad

Obviously this is my interpretation of the flavors, There are lots more I want to try
I was hoping for a tobacco flavor to substitute for the analogs, I still have a few analogs per day, not because I need one, just like to have the original flavor on occasion.

What I'd like to know from others is, does the nic level affect the flavors any? Tell me what some of your first impressions of flavors you tried. I know it did for the apple, One version is sweet while the other is sour.
I may get lucky and have some of the flavors come around for me like the green tea and cappuccino did. :D

I think our taste buds change throughout the day. Something I love in the morning may not be doing it in the evening. You just have to find what works for you.

I personally like the pineapple, my white chocolate strawberry which I had high hopes for (two of my favorite things) just doesn't do it for me, Kamel is decent for a tobacco flavor. The other ones you've mentioned I haven't really tried yet.

Nicotine has a taste, at least to me. It's bitter, and the higher the strength, the more bitter all flavors are due to the nicotine. I've also had people tell me they don't taste it, though, so it may just be that I'm extra sensitive to it.

That is a good point, some of the ones I'm not too fond of I guess has a bitter taste or an odd indescribable taste accompanying the original flavor. But that wouldn't explain why the 36mg apple tastes sweeter while the 18mg apple tastes more sour, interesting.

I have more or less settled on 555 as a tobacco flavor, though I think there's one or two I may not have tried yet. Most tobacco flavors taste more like an unlit cigarette to me, which is maybe why I have gravitated to other flavors for the most part. Maybe if they added some charcoal ash and tennis shoe shavings the tobacco flavors would taste more like a lit Marlboro with FSC stuff. At any rate, I'm very happy having alternatives I never had before.

I kind of figured a tobacco flavored one will be a sub for the real thing, I do find the other flavors more appealing so I may just say goodbye to the analogs for good and enjoy some good fruit flavors instead.

On a side note, I have noticed that I am benefiting from vaping instead of smoking, I climbed 5 flights of stairs 2 nights in a row and wasn't winded at all, and didn't have my heart pounding out of my chest. However my legs didn't appreciate it, I was a bit wobbly for a bit

LoL...it's things like this that remind me partially why I wanted to change over to vaping...Was this one day I got a work call to go do some maintenance on a wind turbine...get out to it and it's 320 feet straight up a ladder...about half way there was a rest landing..was about then that while trying to recover my breath was I both cursing the damn analogs while simultaneously lighting one up in preparation for the other half the climb..

Honestly, right from the start I mostly avoided anything "tobacco-flavored", my main reason being that there is no way that PG/VG and flavorings is going to taste like smoked tobacco, so I knew I was setting myself up for disappointment. I also wanted to learn to like this for itself, and not compared to cigarettes, as a way to help me reduce/quit smoking.

I've gone through a lot of trial and error in terms of flavors, and I have found that I just don't like most of what I've tried. Or, I'll initially like the flavor, and then I end up strongly disliking it within a week or two. So far, out of the 25+ flavors that I've tried, only 3 of them are must-haves, and I don't get sick of them: Mint, Cinnamon, and RY4. Occasionally, I'll vape banana or grape, but only very occasionally. I will continue to try new flavors here and there, but I'm happy with the three I do like.

You'll settle on some favorites after a lot of trial and error.

Kent - which I received accidentally -- turned out to be surprisingly good. I'd say it is better than any of the tobacco flavors and more cigarette-like.

Pear is rather good right outta the box.

You might surprise yourself by liking some of the menthol flavors. Even if you never smoked menthols. Try the sampler pack. They do pack a nice throat hit. Kool and Kowboy Menthol are particularly nice.

I like marlboro once in a great while, but I try not to vape tobacco. I don't want that taste temping me to "try" an analog. I figure I am like an alcohlic..one smoke will cause a binge! So I stick to my fruits and vanilla with RY4 (which I don't taste tobacco in and 555.
I did notice that at first I liked then couldn't stand some flavors..like vanilla! But in a month my tastes took a u-turn and those I couldn't stand, I couldn't get enough of! Too weird!
Give your flavors a rest and try them again later.
