Their process is cumbersome. First you have to create a login for the site, which is then verified by clicking a link in an email message they send you. So far, so good. When you login and select the option to comment, you are told that you have to sign up for TalkBack. So after completing that process, when you select the option to comment, you get a message that first you have to be Verified. This is an entirely different process. You fill in a form with a lot of personal information. The message says that the information will be cross-referenced with a lot of databases, and that you only get one try.
After jumping through these numerous and cumbersome hoops, I am finally able to leave a comment.

The logins in news sites are going to be cumbersome now. A recent lawsuit in Indiana has made news outlets responsible for the comments on their sites. They are being forced to release personal information & many are no longer allowing anonymous comments.
My comment was rather long. It was rejected at first, telling me I needed to shorten it. So I copied the bottom half and posted the first half with (continued) at the bottom.
I pasted the bottom half into a new comment window and again got an error mesage when I went to store it. It told me that I was't allowed to post another comment so quickly. Of course it was quick, I didn't have to type anything other than "Page 2" and Ctrl-v. So I pressed back, pasted aaqin, waited a while and stored.
To my surprise the system took my two separetly stored comments and concatenated them.

JR is correct. My IT background is showing. In computer programming, string concatenation is the operation of joining two character strings end-to-end. Example: roth + enbj = rothenbj

Your "comments" were so well-written, logical, informative, clear, and persuasive that they really out-shined the original article. It's especially remarkable that you can communicate all that in a way that a person who may be just starting to hear about e-cigarettes could easily absorb. I only wish this appeared in a larger venue where more people would read it.
