My Vamo should be arriving tomorrow. Picked up a few different tanks and clearos to try out. Have tons of juice on hand all ready to go. batteries are on charger...batteries...wait a minute...*checks*...Protected Ultrafire 18350's. Son of a...

Anyone know of anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area I can find a couple of good IMR 18650's or 18350's?

also if you have to order batteries online you COULD use the a single protected 350...just keep the volts/watts low and it should be fine
afaik it would just cut off if you tried to draw too much

Thanks for the link man. If their websites are to be believed at least 3 locations within 10 miles of me that should have them (and that pesky ego/510 adapter for the kangers).

You can always take the protection circuitry off. There is thread around here somewhere that tells you how. I highly recommend IMR batteries. Much safer and work great. I am using both EFest 18350s stacked (That's right STACKED. Haven't had any problems. No heating. No problems at all. Might be just lucky but, I think the no stacking hysteria is just that. Show me one person that has has them explode or burn up. Not myth, proof!) and Efest IMR 18650s. I understand the AW IMRs are even more reliable.

Accident waiting to happen. You should NEVER remove protection circuitry from a battery especially when using cheaper mods that arent known for their quality controls to begin with.

Thats an awful big gamble to take with a piece of metal thats only inches from your face and thats not a gamble most of us are willing to take.

But dont take my advice, shows like 1000 ways to die make a fortune off of people who take unnecessary chances ever day.Only takes one time.

+1 on that! removing the protection circuit is crazy IMO.
protected batts are a different chemistry than non-protected IMR batts. the IMR batts are high drain and designed to take more of a beating. the protected batts have a protection circuit because they need it. its a slightly less safe batt that requires protection if somehting were to go wrong.
personally i would only use IMR batts, more specifically, AW brand. Panasonic also builds high quality IMR batts. IMHO, just spend the couple of extra bucks and gain some peace of mind. go with AW or Panasonic and make life easy on yourself.
