You can't go wrong with the Sony 30A, the MNKE 20A or the AW 1600 mAh at 24A. They are all safe at high amps and about as safe as you can get if they hard short. If you're sure you will never go sub ohm you will get more time between charges with the Panasonic NCR18650PD 2900mAh or the NCR18650PF, both 10A max so safe down to about 0.6 ohms. These are also safer chemistry.

All good solid advice given so far.

Bottom line is to use a name-brand, IMR or hybrid safe-chemistry battery, which all of the batteries discussed above are.

If you never plan on using sub-ohm, you don't really need the Sony 30 amp or AW 24 amp batteries, but they are a solid choice regardless. The Panasonic NCR18650PD or -PF will last you a good long time in battery life with 2900 mAh.

In the interest of keeping this from possibly becoming confusing Baditude, I think you meant NCR18650PD. And good to see it's not just me this happens to

I only buy from known reliable vendors. I am not the type to trust some company with the most important part of my setup. The seller may think they are real. So sells them at real price. The company he bought from could be selling fakes. I buy from lighthound and rtd vapor. Both reputable companies. I am not aware of this seller. Maybe they are real. Maybe they aren't

well said once again sir Baditude!

that is why i grabbed the sony 30 amp when i saw it at the local vape shop.. since i tend to experiment all ohm set-ups ... on a mech i liked the 3/4 loop of 28 g. round kanthal .... did not even get to test what ohm it was but it vaped great.... this beast of a battery give me worry free vaping.... while respecting all battery safety ofcourse...

This battery is not a high drain battery, and only has a 6.8 amp continuous discharge rate (most batteries in this class have a 10 amp CDR) so it would not be appropriate for use with a Kick or sub ohm vaping. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/464802-these-panasonic-ncr18650b-batteries-fake-15.html#post11227272

Although it can be used in a regulated mod, it is not "ideal" for this application due to it not being high drain and not for higher mod voltages that use Pulse Width Modulation. Best used for simple clearomizer and cartomizer use in a mechanical mod. This is available in both an unprotected and protected version; be aware that the protected version is a pretty long battery which doesn't fit all mods.

Note the application note for use with flash lights, etc.

Orbtronic offers essentially this same battery under their label in protected version and has this disclaimer:

"Protected Li-ion 18650 batteries are made for high performance flashlights, not for e-cig mods."
