Sony vtc4 at 4,3volts

Hello!

A couple of minutes ago I removed my Sony vtc4 from my Trustfire t001 charger and it was reading 4,3volts on my SVD. I forgot the battery in the charger for a couple of houres more than it would have been required to get it full.

Would it be safe to use this battery?

Tried reading the volts again on my SVD and now it shows 4.2 without any usage.

The battery is probably ok if this has only happened once but you just found one reason why the trustfire charger is not a particularly well respected charger. It overcharges with ease.

Get a better charger. You are taking valuable lifespan off your rare and expensive to replace Sony batteries with every charge on that trustfire. In the short term, you are taking life off of your batteries. In the long term, when your batteries are aged, the trustfire will find the weak cell and vent it for you, possibly causing a catastrophic failure and fire.

Yup, anumber1 nailed it. That charger doesn't stop charging completely and that will take serious life off your batteries after a little while. For your next charger, there is a guy who does really good battery and charger reviews here. I would get something better and keep this one for a emergency spare.

Really should have a multimeter to determine exact voltage of your batteries. I am not sure how many decimal places on the SVD but if it rounds up or down that battery could be anywhere between 4.21 up to 4.39.
