While you're looking at ALL the nice shops, don't forget to check here in the forum for discount codes. There's a thread in the general forum that lists tons of shops with the discounts they offer. And check the suppliers forum too! They also seem to have special deals going on. I've just ordered my first DIY kit so I'm excited to try my hand at making my own juices. This is so much more fun than smoking!

so now I am surfing all over the place in search of juice. Since at this point I have no real clue what I will prefer flavor wise, I am seeking sampler packs. I have come across some by reading the forum page on it (freedom smoke seems to have quite the sampler variety).

Who offers the best sampler arrangements? Best being flavor quality, price, and pick your own flavors rather than predetermined, wide variety to choose from (several seem to offer only about 10 or so flavors, and frankly I could not come up with 10 of the ones offered that sounded appealing).

...the eGoT is a good choice, some love 'em, some don't, I seriously considered it as my first PV but due to the number of complaints about leaks/taste/flavor, I changed my mind and went with low resistance Boge cartos...with the 15 bundle deal from Crystal Clear Vaping you get to free drip tips, a syringe and shipping...been very happy with them and the Riva510 Lite kit I got from Liberty Flights...100%VG juice does not play real nice with most tanks and cartos and is better for straight dripping...an 80/20-70/30 ratio of PG/VG seems to be good for them......
madjack:2cool:

p.s. another big batt(1100mah) model to consider is the KGO from Hoosierecigsupply for 42bux...not a bad deal at all........mj

p.s.s. once again BMV has great sampler packs...5, 3ml for 10 bux or 5, 10ml for 20...any of their flavors with choice of PG/VG/nic levels and even flavor shots...BMV juices are custom blended and do need to steep for a week for best flavor......mj

p.s.s.s. I have no affiliation with BMV other than being a customer, they have just fit my tastes and pocketbook...and they were one of the first I came across.............mj

I second boodle (and others') comment about buying some cartomizers. I started with a regular ego (with the cartridges/mouthpieces that held the e-juice), then bought the ego-T atty and mouthpieces (type B), then went to cartomizers. DEFINITELY worth the 5-7 bucks or so for a pack of 5 cartomizers.

I like cartomizers the best out of all 3 options I've tried. I liked the tank, but after about 2 weeks of vaping, I could barely get any vapor. Keep in mind, I never cleaned the thing. I just filled the mouthpiece and vaped. (got through about 3 or 4 mouthpieces full of juice before I called it quits).

That's one of the things I love about cartomizers. If they start acting funny, or not producing vapor, you just toss 'em and start with a brand new one. Boge standard cartomizers are pretty much the ones everyone measures against. I run 2.8-3.0 ohms on my ego batteries. You can get 2.6-2.8 as well, for a warmer vapor.

I'm a "better safe than sorry" kind of guy, and don't run anything less than the 2.6ohm on my ego batteries. (the lower the ohms, the hotter the hit, but i've read it can decrease the longevity of your batteries)

Good luck!

Thanks for all the help and input. Most of the questions I have thus far have been answered real quick. Love reading everyones different opinions about things as well. Makes it easier to weigh several options to decide what is possible best for me through all the different voices.....all of your voices and all of my own voices.

Will definately be giving Mrs T's Bakery a shot, as well as BlueMistVaping (they appear to have one of the better sample pack options thus far). Looking into the cartomizers as well (based on the recommendation of several). Assuming I DO order a pack of cartomizers, and the tanks piss me off, exactly how do I switch to the cartomizer? I have a feeling that will create a whole new thread from me if that becomes the case.

For now, I am just waiting for the delivery and juice hunting. Will likely order a sample pack of juice at the end of the week. I am hoping the starter kit with 4 juice flavours I ordered is here by Wednesday. Those flavours (a 10ml and 3 @ 5 ml) of 4 different flavours should get me going.

So, when the kit first comes in, how long should I initially charge the battery before using it? A local distributer (almost bought through him but his price was more) recommended 8 hours the first time, and no more than 2-3 hours thereafter.

If your ego charger is the same as mine, it will have a little red light that turns green when fully charged. One of my Batt's I started vaping immediately since they come with a bit of a charge from the factory. The other one I charged till the light went green. I haven't noticed any difference in performance.

Concerning the cartomizers, all you do is unscrew the ego-t Atty from your battery, and screw the cartomizer onto it. You can vape the carto directly, but many prefer to put a drip tip on it. (I do, but only for comfort. Its not needed to vape)

Look up some carto filling methods. The most common are the condom method, the taryn spin, and the syringe method. I use the syringes method because its quick, easy, and not very messy IMO. Be sure and stick the needle between the batting and the carto wall if you use the syringe method. If you didn't order a syringe you can get one from a drugstore or tractor supply/pet supply store. If u aren't interested in a syringe, you can just drop juice onto The batting, let it soak in, and repeat. Standard cartos hold 18-22 drops (fill till the top of the batting looks wet, blow out onto a paper towel, and vape)

Sorry for long response. I'm at work and bored :)

P.s. the carto filling methods can be seen on YouTube. Dont let my longwinded response deter you, they are actually easy to fill.

I am thinking when the order comes in, I will be at work. Plan is to immediately charge one, while attempting to start the other. That night, when I call it a night, charge the other to be ready for the next day.

Not concerned with mixinf my own juice at this point. With a kajillion flavors already out there (I saw roasted chicken and one for spaghetti somewhere) I will figure that out later.

You reply was not longwinded at all....and thanks for the recommendations / suggestions / and how to's

I started with an eGo. I would recommended d it to anyone. It doesn't look like a normal cigarette -- and that's good. The ones that look like cigarettes usually have little to no battery life before you have to charge them. Also remember to get e-juice when you order your starter kit. I would recommend getting at least one pack of cartomizers too, to try it. Read up on the noobie thread's in this section and welcome to ECF!

Edit: matter of fact, read through this thread in its entirety, and there's lots of good advice

Hi Jack. I Will be new whenever the mailman finally gets here.....tomorrow perhaps. I can offer NO first hand advice as I have used none of them yet. I will say that based off of feedback from people here, and even moreso from a friend of mine that I am happy with the choice I made. Of course I have not recieved it yet.

Hopefully my predetermined happiness will lead to happiness upon reciept
