As the title states, I'm in need of some insight... First off, I'd like to thank the admins/owners for keeping this website open to view by those not registered. If it hadn't, I can guarantee that I would have been put off, and probably never gotten interested. So thank you for being awesome!

Now, to the point... I'm up for a change in lifestyle. As is my significant other. There are several things however.

"analog" usage for us is actually very cheap... While they're about 7.50 a pack (I think....) here in central Wi. For us it's about a dollar a pack, because we inject our own. We did this SPECIFICALLY to keep our costs down, as the amount for big tobacco/big government taxing packs is rediculous, and somewhat angering... But the way I figure it, I'm preaching to a choir if I continue any further.

Today, we picked up a disposable PV. While expensive for such a short term device, it was worth a shot to see if it was feasible for us. The entire time I had it (A crappy cigalectric that lasted 5 hours total, and only went through 1.5 of it's three tips), I didn't have a single "analog" that entire time... So the possibility is DEFINITELY there. And it also helped me narrow down what I would need in a PV.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to a couple things.

Vapour- Needed, and a slightly stupid amount of it would be better than less. I Enjoy a good lung hit more so that throat. But if need be, both would be awesome.

Cheap- I'm poor.... I'm very poor... I was one of the many that was laid off back in 08, and actually took the opportunity to go back to college through a state program. While great for my life later, I only get 10k a year income for the household because of it (She has no job, for very good reasons). So I live my life in constant worry about money and a cheap as chips lifestyle. Ending that with that we would like 2 of these...

Reliable-Ties in with the cheap. I don't have the luxury of buying one, breaking/not liking it, and buying a different one. I will have to make do with the first one I buy for a considerable amount of time... So this ties in with the atomizers, cartridges, refilling, battery time etc...

Size- I couldn't care less really. So long as it's an auto start. (Once again, I need one for everything. Driving, sitting at home, in class, etc)

With that being said. I've been looking at the DSE901, the 510, the eGo, Silver Bullet, and more. But the info on them is a bit, jargonish... It's actually quite difficult to make out what some of these need, and best options, etc, to somebody that hasn't been in the know for a while (Much like computer programming, so to speak...) Once again... I can't stress I only get one choice enough.

With that said. I need some insight from those that know more about this than I do. Thanks in advance!

Okay, so I read over your whole post and from what you are telling me You want a quality product for a fair/cheap price. This is what I can tell you, I would not go with auto batteries.. sure it makes them easier to use and hands free.. but anything bigger than a cig mod is going to be basically impossible to use hands free... So.. with that being said I think it is always better to go with the more reliable manual batteries.

Here is my suggestion. The Pure Smoker Ace. (From puresmoker[dot]com)

For 30 bucks you can not go wrong. Plus it uses the KR-808D cartimizers for added ease of use and portability. All you would need to do to get you started is buy a kit in the color of your choice... and select a couple flavors of atomz from the same site... and you are good to go. You could also buy about 5-10 blank atoms... get a couple sample sizes of juices from the USA tonic line... and fill them with those. Which is a pretty easy thing to do. So look it over and tell me what you think. :D

I'm new to all this too so I know how confused you are, my husband and I are swiching for the same reasons (last year I even grew my own Tobacco trying to save on the cost) Before I bought anything I did tons of research and was lucky enough to find this forum and without a doubt the best info came from here. I ended up getting the Joye 510 No box from Cignot, for $35.00 you get 2 complete e-cigg in your choice of colors, automatic or manual, etc. with the electric charger, and 5 pre-filled cartridges. I then added one box of plain cartridges and some sample bottles of e-juices ($3.00 each) shipping was $5.00 (free if you spend over $50.00). We each have one complete E-cigg and we takes turns charging them. If you need a USB charger Madvapes has one for a little more than $3 (cheap Shipping too) I'm also thinking of investing in a PCC case to charge my E-ciggs on the go and maybe a passthrough if you are at a computer like I am all day. So far though all I've got is the order from cignot, I've spent less than $50 and we haven't smoked a regular cigg since we got the kit.:)

that Pure Smoker Ace looks pretty nice, but it looks like maybe the kit doesn't include any atomizers? i could be wrong...i just checked it out briefly

i heard some people in another thread talking very highly of the Riva - it's very similar to the JoyeTech Ego, but apparently with a stronger battery. I think they mentioned EastMall(dot)net

i looked it up, and it's for sale here:
go to Eastmall(dot)net
click on "EM-Riva-Manual (15)" (left side menu)
it's the 4th product in the list (EM-Riva-Black)

It's basically $40 bucks for 2 batteries, 2 attys, pc charger, wall charger, 10 blank carts and the cone (if you wanted to try to use the one kit for both you and your wife, you might need to buy a 2nd cone)

disclaimer - i've never purchased from these guys, and i really don't even know about the reliability of the Riva's, but I did hear some experienced users here on the forum speaking highly of them, and the price sure does seem right (a comparable JoyeTech Ego kit runs at least $60-$80 bucks i believe)

maybe some Riva owners, as well as anyone who may have purchased stuff from EastMall, can chime in and help out...i would not make the purchase until i had heard some feedback from some of the more experienced users...i'm just trying to help out on the pricing side...this one seems very reasonably priced, but i can't speak to the durability/quality, or the supplier for that matter

one thing I would suggest...if possible, just in case you run into problems with your equipment, it might be better to purchase from one of the suppliers that advertise here on this site...they have good reputations for a reason, and I don't think they would want to tarnish their rep by treating a customer badly....especially with all of the members here "watching" :)

I like these prices listed. I was hoping to keep it down to 120 for most of the stuff to allow both her and I something to go about our daily business with.

Passthrough is a must
After having this automatic battery in the disposable fail, I can see how this is a very valid point. (When looking at the silver bullet, I like the idea of a button on a larger PV).
Both are perking my interest along with all of the others I mentioned earlier (Such as the 510)

Taking it slow, don't want to rush this :D

Thank you guys for the input so far. Everyone that reads this, please chime in!

On the ace, the Atomz is the Atomizer. They are Disposable(but also refillable if you want) Cartomizers.

But like you said, don't rush things and search for what you think you really want. The Ace is an awesome product for a more than fair price. Plus Pure Smoker until august 15th is running a coupon code that saves you 10% on any purchase that isnt gift cards or bulk atomizers. I think the code is 2yearsold. (you can find it on the forums)

A riva would be perfect for you, you can also get empty 510 cartomizers (atomizer and cartridge all in one) that you can fill with juice yourself which works out cheaper and better quality than prefilled ones). I own a few expensive mods as well as an Ego (same thing as a Riva but the Riva has even better batteries and a better button) and still use the Ego with a second edition cartomizer sometimes. The little sister is also a brilliant variable voltage mod which can really put out the vapor and packs a punch but is a little more outlay, it can be found here Little Sister

If it were me, I'd drip on an Ego. Like VP said, you can always get some 510 cartos, but dripping, to me, is the most cost effective method. Get a drip tip, 3 or 4 bottles of juice, about 5 extra atomizers, a few cartos and a good starter kit and let 'er rip. Good luck with whatever you end up with. BTW, the Little Sister does look really sweet.

If you want simple, ........ form factor, look into the KR808D-1 types. Vapor4life (their VaporKing), NHaler, and other ECF (this forum) suppliers sell them. NHaler always has a 10% discount (saveinnj), as does V4L (smilin), and V4L often has other, higher % off sales.

Both offer base kits with 2 batteries, charger, and initial 5 pack of cartos at $50. V4L also offers an XL (a bit longer, heavier, like a heavy 120 cigarette) at the same $. Two of those kits, or one plus one extra battery to always keep one charging, should do you pretty well.
Add an extra pack or two of blank cartos, plus 30ml of an e-juice, should get you going pretty well.
If you smoke regular strength cigs, likely a 24 mg/ml juice is what you'll want, though people vary.

Here's another vote for the Riva. The Ace is a good ecig (a kr808 I believe?) but the short charge life of the battery may be a problem. You will BOTH need extra batteries to keep up with the charging. I had four batteries going all the time when I was using regular batts. The Riva battery holds for 6 to 8 hours for me and I vape like a steam engine. Two kits will run you a hundred bucks but save you a LOT of headaches. Here's a link to a good seller. The Riva (Black) [VJK002] - $49.95 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply
You could get some 510 cartomizers to go with the Riva and have the convenience of only having to fill them every couple hours too.
Good luck man.
