Haven't started vaping yet, but very interested in started up. Mainly to quit smoking. I was wondering what everyone's opinion on a startup kit. I have been looking into the as yet unreleased innokin VTR. I have friends that use the innokin VV/VW and that have an eroll. I am looking for something that has a decent TH with a battery that will last me all day with moderate usage, and something reasonably compact. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thank you all very much.

I would recommend the Innokin MVP v1 or v2.. It comes with everything you need.. 2 iclear16s atomizers, a 2600mah battery, and a charger.. When i first made the switch, my ego batteries were not lasting very long, so i went out and found the MVP to solve that problem.

I really wish someone would have pointed me in that direction so that i would not have wasted money on egos..

My vote is for the MVP. I can't wait for mine to come. I ultimately chose it because it has a sick battery life, is vv/ww (I ordered the v2) and i didn't want to have three or for expensive mods. I just wanted one that would work for me. This might change, who knows. Whatever kit you start with, it should be something you will be happy with for a while. Now a days there is no need to begin at the egos and work your way up. Don't get me wrong egos are a great starting place for most but if you have friends with vv/vw kits then they should be able to help you find the right device for you.

good luck

I recommend either a setup like this: Ideal Startup Setup for a Beginning Vapor

Or an Innokin iTaste MVP.

Hi and welcome to ECF! :) It depends on how much money you wanted to spend. I may have Provari tastes, but unfortunately only an Innokin SVD budget (which is what I own now and I very much like it). Also, the geek in me has me interested in the Evic. I have seen both run between $80 - $100 for a startup kit. Although I can only vouch personally for the SVD, I think either would be solid. Also, if you are looking for something a little smaller/discreet, the MVP 2 may be an option for you for $50 - $75. Hope this helps.

The MVP or SVD are both good choices IMHO. These were my last favorite mods before my Provari's. My family still use both of my SVD's on a daily basis and my daughter steals my MVP when she is going out partying for the week end because of how long it lasts and she can charge her Cell phone if needed..

Congrats on making the decision to quit! As for what you should start with that's all relative. How much do you want to spend? Do you plan on sticking with vaping as a hobby or will you quit once to ween yourself off of nic? My suggestion is to start inexpensive. Learn what you can while you make the transition from 'baco to liquid and then if you find you want to stick with it then you will have the knowledge base to at least know what questions to ask. Just my :2c:

Again Kudos on making the decision! Oh, and welcome. :toast:

I second Red'n'Black's post. Start with a very inexpensive eGo kit and some
juice with medium nicotine level. Then you can go from there. eGo battery (1100mah)
would last you half a day and charges pretty quickly from a USB (3 hours?)
The kit I'm talking about comes with a clearomizer tank. Easy to fill and vape for an hour
or so. And best of luck!

So, from the responses I have gotten, and from reading hundreds of other posts. There seems to be two distinctly different points of view regarding the initial purchase.
One is buy cheap. Then go from there. Not something I am really a fan of, personally.
The second being, buy the best and don't look back. These being from people that generally speaking, don't have a ProVari themselves but wish they did. I can see myself being in this category. Wishing I did, but honestly, unless I come into money, can't justify spending that much right off the bat.
So where does that leave me? In the middle. Right where the general population of vapers are.

I started vapping with no intentions of stopping. Just enjoy vapping to much. Since you are thinking of vapping to just quit smoking, the MVP version 2 is out, has everything you need for $59 at MVP Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes you even get a bottle of juice at that price, and an Iclear 30. This will produce plenty of vapor that you'll not miss smoking at all. Might find it cheaper elsewhere, but this is a fair price. imo. With most other devices you'll have to order batteries and charger and atomize and juice, unless you get it in the kit form. For introduction into the world of vapping, the MVP is a bargain. Personally I'd get the VTR, but it's $120. I own a Provari, and am extremely happy with it, the provari kit cost about $212 though.

Edit: woops sorry, looks like they are sold out at MVP. but you get the idea. :vapor:

Defiantly get something quality, other wise you'll be keep trying something else and end up saying "I could of had a Provari" lol cause that's exactly what I did, and yes I do have a Provari.

This is where I'm at minus the ProVari.
But it's ok..... one more week to go and I'll have one.
I knew before I started vaping that I was entering in it with no intentions of quitting which is why I'm not complaining too much about the money already spent.
