Love my Provaris. Love my KFL clones. Hate the gap and the rattle. Are there any beauty rings that fill the gap and don't move around?

I'm afraid it's gonna vary by clone!!
Your's looks like there's CLEARLY a gap - but with my Russians, and the same ring, I have to EXTEND the battery pin to reach...
In other words - there's no consistency in the length of the 510 threading, so it's kinda hit and miss.

My best fit is the "kayfun Cone" - and I love that they taper from 23 (provari diameter) to 22 (Russian/kayfun diameter).
But I don't think they're any taller than the ProVape ring.

The one that is DEFINITELY taller is the IBTanked ring...
Might be worth a shot for $12, if your pin is adjustable (those are a LOT taller, and you may need that).

So both of these fill the gap and don't spin at all???

@kas: Got any pics???

I have 2 of those and I was using them, till I got the original kayfun ones, I like that it leaves no ledge.

It's only about .25mm so it doesn't bother me at all. There's more variance in diameter than that between each individual Provari anyways. Not saying the cones aren't a bad choice, mind you. I just have more important things to worry & think about than .25mm. Like cheese.

Mmmm... I love cheese.

I still use them for other tanks, but I like these rings. :)

Are you using the KFL+ V2 clones? The V2s don't have an adjustable pin, so you basically have 2 choices.

1.) Pull the 510 pin insulator and VERY VERY carefully sand it a little at a time to get the 510 pin to sit flush on one of your rings, but be careful not to sand it too much or it will make the positive block on the KFL loose, which will lead to a short when you tighten the Kayfun down on the Provari (this happened to me but I had a spare insulator).

2.) Get a Russian 91% replacement center post kit from FatDaddyVapes.com - Home of the best vape tweaks and replacement hardware. - Home and replace the non-adjustable center pin so you can make it sit flush that way.

All the KFL's have a slotted screw on the end of the post. That doesn't mean it's adjustable - if you back that screw out you're loosening the positive block on the build deck. The adjustable pins came in the Russians but not the KFL's.

Part 18 & 19 is the 2 piece adjustable pin

While not a KFL, this is what the non-adjustable pin looks like. Externally, they look identical.

Ahhh Ok. Color me educated. I really need to study the breakdown of these.

Maybe I need to get a Russian.

I have 4 of these, and they work perfect, but you have to watch, for when they get them in stock.

I use this ring also. I have a Russian that I love and this ring keeps the lines perfect. There was still a tiny gap when I first used it so I used a metal file and filed the bottom of the Russian down very carefully. Probably .010". Just a guess. I filed it with the pin in palce, so I actually was filing the pin and the outside of the 510 threads at the same time. Keep the file as level as possible and file a little at a time, try it on and file a little more as necessary. Took about 10 minutes. It fits perfectly now. Sorry about the fingerprints, but you can see the taper really nice in this pic.

It's a potentially nice feature, but I don't have a problem with a single one of my KFLs. But I don't buy knock-off's either. What I would suggest is pull the post assembly completely out. 18 & 19 are going to be one piece, take the insulator (16) and give it a light sanding with 220 or 320 grit on the wider end. When you put the post back in, grasp the positive block (13, the larger of the 2) with a needlenose pliers & make sure you screw the post in very tightly. That'll shorten it up just a touch. If you look at the polished mini in my photo, you can see there is still a gap without a ring, so you don't need to bring it all that far down. I would guess that a Loki ring will close that gap up more than the Provape ring. Probably the Kayfun cone as well, but I don't have one to speak for absolute certainty (not to mention they're frequently out of stock). Between tightening up that post & a better ring, you should be snug & flush.

Thanks for this. I'm not usually one to do modifications to get things to work. Sometimes a fix ends up being just the opposite. I may give this a try.
