Well I found a quick and cheap way to fill the gap. I took one of the thin o-rings that came with my KFL and put it around the Provari and rolled it up until it hits the bottom of the tank ring. Pushes the ring up flush against the KFL.
Sooo what ring fills the Kayfun gap?

My 3 week old Mini's center pin is so tall that nothing I own will fit flush on it. Kanger Aerotanks and Megas. Svoe KFL+ V2 (2/14 build). A nautilus Mini I borrowed from another vaper to test. All have a significant gap when tightened down, let alone when following the contact + a quarter turn guideline.
Provape's QC is obviously far beyond industry standards, but whoever is doing these top caps and installing the fixed 510 pins should probably be doing something else IMHO.
Really like the 'Vari, but after 510 problems with an MVP2 and a Cana, this will absolutely be my last device without a floating center pin.
Thanks for the feedback everyone, was able to order a Svoe Cone this weekend from VapeRev (It appears they're already gone once again, sigh) and am hoping the little bit of extra height over the ProVape ring will help some. That place kills me, their entire website is always out of stock, but at least they're not forcing $9+ worth of slower than molasses FedEx Ground shipping charges for an $8 kayfun cone that weighs an ounce like they were a few months ago.
Time to go find the double sided tape to at least get rid of the ring rattle...
Love my Provaris. Love my KFL clones. Hate the gap and the rattle. Are there any beauty rings that fill the gap and don't move around?

GrModders rings are pretty good. I used it with a Pyrex RSST and I stuffed some cotton underneath the ring to get it to sit tight. Still looked perfect, and the GrModders ring has the little tear drops like the regular Provari top cap
