last week i got a sample pack from a vendor and took it with me on vacation. started out with a regular flavor then a couple menthol flavors. after the menthol flavors i started getting a sore throat and switched to my adv. rode it out for couple days and it cleared up. i have since tried a couple of the regular flavors from them and no problems. is there something special in menthol flavors i could be reacting to? they are all same pg/vg mix so i dont think that is the problem.

thanks

I've been vaping menthol liquids for 8 months and never had a sore throat. In fact I find the menthol flavors quite soothing.

It may be that you are especially sensitive to menthol? Were you ever a menthol smoker and if so were there throat issues with cigarettes?

Afterthought: Were all the menthol liquids from the same vendor? Maybe menthol from a different vendor wouldn't irritate?

I get it sometime with certain flavors. I vaped VaporGod menthol once, and it was so STRONG that I tasted it for hours after. But it's a great liquid because I just put two or three drops in a tank and the whole liquid becomes a mentholated version of it, but I cannot smoke it on it's own. Cinnamon eliquid actually shredded my gums like Captain Crunch does. Weird.

Just different food sensitivities. Have you tried menthol from multiple vendors? If it's just one, it could just be that one vendor's menthol that messes up your mouth. If you have tried multiple, it could just be a common ingredient that messes the throat up.

in 45 years of smoking analogs, i only bought menthols when my throat was so raw, it was the only alternative to cold turkey.

been vaping for a little over a month and now i include a menthol in my daily rotation, much to my surprise.

i'd be surprised if it's your vendor. i'd guess menthol just ain't in your wheelhouse. i suppose a real menthol fan could taste the difference between ABC menthol and XYZ menthol, but to me, well, it's menthol...

I guess I must qualify as a "real menthol fan," dwallen, cause to me there can be a HUGE difference between menthol juices! Some make me gasp, some make my eyes water, and some send me into the aaaaahhhh zone. :)

Since I've been mixing my own juice, I've discovered that it's the strength of menthol additive that makes the difference. Some vendors must add more of it, and some less. That's why I suggested OP try different vendors.

OP, you also might consider trying a "pure" menthol juice, without tobacco flavoring. Just a thought...

this is my experience too... but I have found that different manufacturers/juices are very different feeling/tasting depending on quality/quantity of the additive. some I like, some i find unpleasant
