I noticed the same thing. I read a post on here with someone asking about it. I read someone saying it is your body getting used to the vapor, another say it is b/c of the VG, and another saying that hardcore vaping dries your throat, and if you plan on doing it hours on end to drink water with it. I dunno, which of these are true, or if any of them are. I use VG almost exclusively, but do make a point to take drinks of water while nonstop vapefesting. I don't have the soar throat mornings anymore, and I vape up till the point when I brush my teeth just before bed. Hope this helps.

It happens to me more from PG than VG. Unlike me, it goes away for most in time, but my tolerance for PG, which I still use now and then, is not good.
Drink plenty of water, and hopefully this will pass. In the mean time before swallowing swish it around your mouth---maybe even rub your tongue over parts of your mouth.
Brush your teeth more often, especially before going to bed and gargle.

I cut my nic with VG/10% water and experience sore throat (not too bad though). The Nic is a PG base so I am not sure if it is the PG. When I used the prefilled carts which were all PG, I had a worst throat burn. My wife and daughter are always complaining also about the sore throat thing. I'll have to buy some VG based nic to experiment with. Also the taste of the PG is nasty. Like sucking anti-freeze.

i had this problem when i first started vaping, because your throat is still recovering from smoking analogs. as your body repairs itself, especially in your throat and lungs, you'll get "baby" tissue that starts growing back making everything sensitive. after about 2 weeks i didn't have any problems.

otherwise it could be the liquid like someone said, or your vaping style.

I remember I had a sore throat during my first week vaping too. I also developed an earache from the sinus drainage that I knew would happen once I started reducing my tobacco intake (I tried to quit smoking several years ago, and my sinuses drained for several weeks). I used Luden's or hard candy for my throat, some homeopathic ear drops to help with the ear pain (available at Wal-Mart), and an over the counter antihistamine to help control the drainage for a few days. That being said if the earache would have lasted beyond 3 days and/or was accompanied by a fever or dizziness, I would have headed to the doctor.

I liked the advice about gargling before going to bed, and drinking more fluids, it really does help. I also discovered that I need to take a drink of water or juice when I first wake up before vaping, otherwise the back of my throat burns.

With pure PG I always got a sore throat, switched to VG and stopped getting em as long as I drank enough water. Rarely my throat will still hurt, but usually it's my body being dehydrated. Remember that both of them can dry your body out a little faster than normal, so it's important to hydrate. ^_^

@the few people who mentioned my body recovering from smoking analogs, I had quit analogs 2 months before I started vaping. Do you think this could still be a cause?

The difference between the yummy eliquidplanet juice I just ran out of and the liquid I still have a large amount of from Eastmall is obvious and drastic to me now... I suspect that it's the PG/VG difference... The PG being the EM liquids and the VG being the eliquidplanet liquid. The question still remains... am I going to get used to, and eventually be able to appreciate the suspectedly PG Eastmall liquids soon? Ever? Idk... could a low quality liquid cause this kind of irritation continuously?

Another question I have is whether or not PG is typically considered lower quality than VG? Do they each have their own merits? Is it strictly personal preference? I don't have the money to dabble in many websites and pay a lot of shipping fees to try a lot of different kinds of juice.

Edit: Also, I'd like to assure you guys that me drinking enough liquids is not the problem. I drink a lot of water constantly while vaping, under the recommendation of y'all :)

I would say, just vape the VG at night, if that seems to make the difference with PG. And no, PG is not lower quality, some people preffere the way it delivers flavor(I don't), and others prefere the TH(I don't). It's a preference issue. Also, strictlyejuice.com has 30ml of VG juice for $10, although it is high in nic at 36mg. I really like their tobacco flavor VG, their menthol is good too. Niether are hard on my throat. Also, you can get their unflavored VG and get some flavorings for it, and mox w/ a little VG from Whole Foods or the drug store(cheap). If you mix the VG w/ nic 50/50 w/ USP VG it brings the nic to @15mg once you add flavor.

Pg and VG have their own merits really. I always run my juice around 80 or 90 percent vg, with a little PG to give it a nice throat hit. To balance throat hit among my juices I add different amounts of vodka to each. Granted I just DIY for myself...but it works for moi! ^_^

If you've got strong enough juices you could try doing a 50 50 of the pg you have and some Glycerin from walmart...just get the USP grade stuff in the hand creams area. 24mg juice would then be 12, but would be a LOT less harsh on your throat. I'd suggest mixing it 50 50 in a small bottle first, before doing it to a whole 30ml.
