You'll know when a politician is lying ,,,when his lips are moving!
It is my understanding that only NYC vapors can take action on this proposed ban. If not, someone please let me know as i will do my part to help
I personally feel like people who can afford private schools should still pay taxes for public schools.I don't know about different areas, but everywhere I've lived every property (residential and commercial) pays a school tax, regardless of who goes where or who goes or doesn't go.
Actually, the best schools are almost always what are known as "private public schools." These are the schools that are in towns that are so expensive to live in that no one but the very wealthy to to school there. The house across the street from the college I used to work at paid $55k per year in property taxes. If you can actually find someone in that town willing to sell there house, it won't be for less than $5 million. Is it a surprise that a lot of teachers in that district made $100k per year? Is it a surprise that they had a 100% passing rate on the state exams mandated for graduation or that they had a 100% graduation rate?
Funny thing is, under state law they were facing cuts in state funding because they weren't showing any growth. I guess it's possible to do better than a 100% on-time graduation rate. Why is it called common sense when it's anything but common?

I dont understand this line of thinking? Why should someone pay for other peoples kids? Is it not the responsibility of the parent to provide for the child's education?
I say good for them people who dont have to worry about money like most of us. I hope they live good wholesome trouble free lives someone should.
Me personally I do not want anything I cant earn for my self I do not want the Government taking money from someone else to give to me.
Ill provide for me and mine and not worry about what others have.
I should say I enjoy when I work in NYC. NYCrs have a bad wrap I dont find them rude except when driving;-) Most are pretty friendly and out going they will strike up a conversation with you at pretty much any place.
They will also gladly give you detailed directions to the best Delly in any 3 block radius
Real New Yorkers are friendly and helpful. I not only give detailed directions to those who inquire, I approach the obviously befuddled and offer help and, if not too far out of my way, will even guide folks towards their destination.
All the rude, poorly-accented New-Yawk rude crap is Hollywood fiction made up to make the big city seem controversial. Then all the Carrie-Bradshaw-wannabes watch all these tragic movies, assume that is the way people behave in New York, move here and behave like the a-holes they alway wanted to be when they grew up in Boringville, Suburbia.
The rude drivers aren't NYers, they are from New Jersey and Lebanon. Apologies, we can't deport either. Trust me, we'd like nothing more.
If you want a real New Yorker to respect you, remember the only rule that matters, anywhere in the world: always walk on the right. Even in London, where they drive on the left, they walk on the right.
Do this, and all other transgressions are overlooked and forgiven.
Good move. I spend large portions of my day doing the same thing.i'm gonna have to bow out of this conversation now.
if i proceed it will get ugly and personal...
