dead bugs in your bottles wtf lol

I know, yuck, huh? It's happened to me with a new shipment from a major bottle company. Bottles are often stored in warehouses for long periods of time, not sterile environments. Even the manufacturing process can leave debris behind.

Check out this site for Lab Glassware. Or Uranium.

Lab Glassware : United Nuclear , Scientific Equipment & Supplies

Wow, zoiDman! Thanks for the link! My 50 ml. burette cost me $60.00 about 20 years ago, and they're offering one for $18.00? United Nuclear has some great prices.

... The colored bottles are even harder to notice dead bugs and stuff so I recommend washing before using.

I thought Dead Bugs in e-liquids were Lucky? Kinda like the Worm in the Bottle of Tequila.

Also, some Arthropods tend to Reduce the time needed for “Steeping”.

BTW - Where do you get your Bottles from?

Great deal on these 4oz amber bottles!! Thanks mgordon!
American Science & Surplus : Containers

It's forever amber, this 4-oz glass bottle, but it's only temporarily logo-ed. The white text and logo from a nail-care company are easily scrape-offable, leaving the bottle perfect. Like you. The bottle is 4-1/2" tall x 1-7/8" dia with a 9/16" ID mouth and conical gasket in the black-plastic screw cap. 12583 AMBER BOTTLE, GASKETED SCREW CAP $3.50 PKG(10)

You're welcome. 35 cents a bottle is great, but shipping gets you. However, where are you going to get 10 or more glass bottles shipped cheap?

I'm tempted by that same set, too, zoiDman! Actually, it looks useful, and you can get glass really clean, unlike the mostly plastic stuff I'm using now.

It is a Cool Set. Perhaps just a Tad Small though.

I started using Glass for All my e-Liquids mainly because I couldn't Guarantee that e-Liquid Vendors were using Plastics that were Chemically Stable. I also like being able to Reuse Bottles without getting any Cross Flavor Contamination.

I made a Bottle Rack which just a block of Wood with some Dowel Rods sticking out of it. After Cleaning, I usually just pop the Bottles in the Dishwasher on the Lower Rack, I put the Bottles on the Dowel Rods to Dry. Works well.

Finland
Great thread - if anyone has any good leads on cheap bottles and other supplies within the EU, who ships to Finland, I would be grateful (most of my stuff is from this Polish site, very cheap but somewhat limited selection).

Right now I have *nearly* all I need for awhile, but I made a serious error when ordering my first stuff and only got like five each of 5ml and 10ml plastic dropper bottles and a measly 5 plastic pipettes. You need LOTS of small bottles. Now I think I have something like 25 and 15, plus five 10ml glassbottles (with some fantastic glass drop-pipettes). What I am still lacking is bigger (30ml, maybe 50ml) bottles, but so far I haven't made anything I want to make a big batch of.

And what everyone said about syringes - luckily my pharmacy is quite helpful there, and I don't mind the sharp needles. 1ml syringes is IMO an absolute must when doing small batches.
But those plastic pipettes aren't completely useless, they are quite handy in transfering things from one bottle to another, when measurement isn't needed or when/if you are using a graduated cylinder to mix in.
