Ok, I'm looking for advice on this. I have had the sparkplug for like 2months and 3 batteries for the same amount of time. I love it so much and have totally kicked analogs! Ben at vapornine has been amazing!!

Recently vapor production has been horrible and when I place my batteries in the tube they get super hot!! Are the batteries dead and need to be replaced or has this unit crapped the bed on me? Thank you everyone for any advice!

Hey thank you for the reply ben, it doesn't appear that it activates without me pressing it because it seems this only happens when I'm placing a new battery (like fresh off the charger) in the tube. usually it gets very hot in a matter of 5seconds or less. Could it be that the batteries are just shot after a month or two?? That's okay with me if it is. Lol just wanna make sure I'm finding the cause of the problem. thanks!!

midsmalls, I have had the same issue. One of the unprotected batteries got so hot I discarded it. I have also blown 4 new attys in a day. Unfortunately, the protected Trustfire batteries I bought do not work in the unit. I think the bottom of them is too flat to touch and complete the circuit. The ones that came with it have a raised bottom. I am having an electrical mechanic at work look at it, but he is unfamiliar with e-cigs. Any info on this would be great, because I really like this unit, but don't like the idea of a blow-out.

If it only happens when you press it down it should be ok but it sounds like it could potentially be a short in the adapter or atomizer you are using. If it does the same thing with a new battery then let me know and we can probably get you a new adapter or something that will fix the issue with the connection

thanks:)

OK so I ordered two more batteries and both had the exact same problem with getting extremely hot within seconds of being placed in the chamber. After a cool down period and tweaking with the sparkplug I can get it to vape but with minimal vapor production. plus the batteries never charge correctly after they heat up. I will try and recap exactly what I am doing when installing and attempting to vape.
1. Unscrew top (button) and place battery in chamber.
2. Usually tweak the cartomizer to remain tight with the bottom 901adapter. (Always using protected batteries and always keeping airflow holes lined up through both the chamber and cartomizer)
3. press button (which does depress) and attempt to vape
4. BURNING CHAMBER!! battery way way to hot to touch.

I am a little depressed here I take good care of this unit and prior to the battery heat problem it was Flawless!! any ideas here?

midsmalls, I had the same issues with the unprotected batteries that came with it.
There were some suggestions about shorting out in one of the end caps in the veterans forum. These units do have a warranty. Contacting the manufacturer might be your best option.
And remember to install the battery with the positive side toward the atomizer/cartomizer, and tighten the unit ends BEFORE putting the atomizer/cartomizer back on. The owners manual has a blurb about that. Tech support | SparkPlugforSmokers.com
I had purchased UltraFire protected batteries that simply will not work in the unit (even though they work perfectly in my flashlight). Battery length was the same, and even tried a magnet spacer to be sure. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Then I bought a set of the AW brand, and they are working well so far.

Also having some issues with a sparkplug. First off, wanna say that the particular one that I'm having issue with was NOT purchased at V9. We did have a bad button on the one we purchased from V9, but Ben replaced it immediately and that one is now working fine. The one we're having issue with was given to my Father-in-Law by a very kind forum member and it has been working fine for quite some time. But now it seems to have just "crapped out". Button moves, but it only vapes intermittently. Sometimes you can get it to fire by "wiggling" the button back and forth while you press. I've cleaned it top to bottom and it will work for a few puffs & then die again. Fresh batteries, new carto, new adapter....all no good. So....any suggestions? I know that it is suppose to be indestructible, but F-i-L is a cancer patient and since they have put him on morphine it seems that he can break ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!

Also, Ben, any chance I could just buy a new button from you to see if that'll solve?
