So I have a provari v2 standard size and a 18350 battery. Is it possible to use one of those magnetic spacers from the battery side with proper insulation from the body of course. What potential problems might I have with this setup?

We recommend not to use spacers. The provari is designed to use AW imr batteries for best performance.
Can I ask why you would want to use a smaller mah battery in a standard size provari? Unless that's the only size you own ATM?
The standard size provari is designed for use of bigger IMR batteries for longer run times
