Occasionally, I'm on the go without the car, and wearing shorts...on the bike or walking, or just working in the yard. I don't want a lot of bulk on me to carry a spare set of batteries and an atty, plus a small bottle of niquid; but, until the a few weeks ago,I really didn't have anything except my pockets to carry things in, and that could be bad with a couple of Tenergy 3.0V batteries in my pocket (change, keys, etc,).
At my fine vintage, I have the trouble of farsightedness, and the optometrist has pronounced my eyes qualified to wear plain, old reading glasses...the kind you see at the local drug store, K-Mart, or WalMart. So I picked up several pairs of those foldable-bridge/telescoping-earpiece glasses, made by Magnivision.
Trouble is, I've mangled several pairs of the things by dropping them into a running engine, dropping them and stepping on them--I'm sounding like a real klutz, here--and, as a result, I have several of the storage cases that have no real purpose except to clutter-up the junk drawer, taking up space that I could otherwise fill with different junk.
During a mission to clean out that drawer, one day, I looked at the cases and wondered if they might be just big enough to fit a couple RCR123As into, stacked. Lo and behold, they fit, with enough room to slide a BE112 or 510 atty alongside the stacked batteries.
If you happen to have some of these cases gathering dust in your house, it might be worth a look to see if they will serve a similar purpose for you.
