*DANGER* Carrying Spare Batteries in Pocket

this is sort of unrelated but what should you do if your battery has a scratch on it, like for example I have a vtc4 18650 flat top and on the green plastic and part of it chipped of leaving that area exposed, like you can see the metal. Should electrical tape be good to cover it?

electrical tape should do the trick, just make sure to pull it tight so it won't make the battery too much thicker. another thing you could do is resleave it in shrink tube. but i would leave the plastic top ring on unlike the guy in this video, also if you could find some thinner tube that would be better as well.

I read about this as a warning here so I had been carrying a separate battery in a pocket with nothing else. Usually one of my back pockets. Then I received 4 VTC5's yesterday and each one of them was contained in a rubbery sleeve. Awesome little safety device for carrying a single battery.
