The Sparkplug SP2 is available now for $29.99 at sparkplugforsmokers.com and comes with a thermo tube for 6v vaping for free... at least at the time of this writing.

I've had it for a couple of days. First impressions... the good stuff.

...its beautiful! I have the bare metal tube, and its finished in a great combination of almost brushed aluminum. I prefer non-anodized aluminum.. I like to polish it to shiny status (which takes about a minute with the right polish)

...its small! the length of the body (not including the atomizer) is three fingers long, leaving my pinky to depress the button.

...its sturdy! Not just aluminum. Thick aluminum. I was worried about the threads, but they are beefy and with a little care will last. Don't over tighten things though... its not necessary and will likely damage something.

...its simple! The button on the bottom is the only moving part... no switches to go bad. I really like this aspect. Its a minimalist mod and I love that.

...its vapes great! Long lasting 3.7v vaping means I don't have to dread the blinky light that means the end of my instant gratification.

...its comfortable! Pretty light, the button on the bottom took a bit of getting used to, but there are about 15 different ways I can depress it, so now I prefer this.

...its versatile! The inclusion of the thermo tube allows for 6v vaping (not my thing) but also extended 3.7v vaping if you use a 17670 battery with it! Thats just badass.:2cool:

...its backed by nice people! My few dealing with the owner have been great, and he responds to requests quickly.

and the bad stuff...

... its dangerous! It ships with unprotected Li-Ion batteries. It has no vents. It has no on/off switch. This is just stupid. And dangerous. I've written the manufacturer and ranted elsewhere about it, so I'll leave it at that.

... the included e-juice sucks! It tastes like an ash-tray. Yuck.

... the website sucks! Normally its not a big deal when a website sucks. In this case it crashes when ordering, it seems to have problems using SSL to send the CC info encrypted, and if you log in you get access denied messages forever. The customer service online chat is really some people in Minnesota at a call center who don't know anything about the product.

I love this thing.. and at the price point, I wouldn't really complain about anything. Its a great value. Everything thats bad about it is either temporary or easily remedied.

Get protected batteries, or safe chemistry batteries, and its a great mod!

without seeing one in person is it possible to drill vent holes?

I dont think its very possible for most but certain people would be able to.

I have been thinking about ordering from these guys but it almost seemed too good to be true, i guess they are legit so I will place order soon.

I have talked to the owners quite a bit on the telephone, and truely wow! James is the one I spoke to,and getting affordable PVs to people is something of a crusade for him. I thought it was too good to be true also which is why i called. There is quite a in depth thread in the PIF thread of reviews on the sparkplug if anyone wants to check there, someone posted them on deals and steals,so lots of people bought and are posting reviews in a separate thread.

This review is spot-on. It's a nice, affordable mod. The website needs serious improvements. The batteries are not a good choice from a safety standpoint.

I too spoke to one of the owners. He was friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. He was also well aware of the website issues. He assured me that they are working on the website "as we speak". He also added a couple bonus items to my order and apologized for the inconvenience.

As of today, I noticed that they *do* now have an encrypted (https) shopping cart.

My sparkplug arrived yesterday. As soon as my AW IMR batteries arrive I will be giving this baby a try.

Good day, JJ

Small word of warning. I decided to try a type-a eGo-t atty with the 510 adapter. The type-a atty fits the sparkplug well, vapes well, and looks nice, with only a very small gap.

One small problem, though. When I removed the atty from the sparkplug, the 510 adapter came off with it. Now the adapter is buried inside the atty cone and I see no easy way to extract it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, JJ

If you have a old dead battery that you do not care about you may be able to screw it in really really hard and hope that you got it tighter than it is on the atty and then try to unscrew it, otherwise I would think a dremel to take off the bottom part of the atty but obviously that would suck

Actually the dremel idea is pretty good because this particular atty is getting old anyway. It's the adapter I'm more concerned about.

Thanks, JJ :)
