I used a small regular type spray bottle built into my Puck Ultimate!

I saw spray bottles at madvapes and thought about attaching a tube for feeding juice.
Please tell how you out it all together.

I used this bottle from ebay. It says 3ml but it's more like 10ml and turned out to be the perfect size for what I needed.

The tubing is from one of those long handled gas grill lighters.

I used a 1/16 drill bit by hand to enlarge the output hole of the spray bottle cap to make it big enough to accept the tubing. Be careful to keep the hole straight so it doesn't poke through the side of the little plastic tube to the center of the cap, watch from the bottom of the removed cap. I wrapped a little teflon tape around the tubing before inserting it into the drilled hole to make it air tight and further sealed it with a little hot glue to handle the output pressure. I wrapped a little teflon tape on the nozzle that sticks straight up from the pump assembly to prevent leakage under the high pressure of thick liquid and then pressed the cap back onto it.

I drilled a hole in the cart at a downward angle to lessen the bend in the hose and secured the hose with a little hot glue but first threaded the hose through the holes in the case. I primed the cart filler and the atty and it's good to go.... a pump every few few puffs and the cart filler and atty are wet and fresh for days!

The slack in the hose was bothering me but it's necessary so I put the hose down a small hole by the pump and back up a hole by the atty so the slack can stay inside the unit until the cart or atty needs to be removed. Now it's a little more rugged and pocket friendly.

I Built the "Puck" mod and the the Puck SD, then the variation above with a larger case to hold the juice bottle. I wanted a bottom feed because I didn't like the hose but kinda solved that issue. I like this pump bottle because it's a closed system and there's no worries about leaks or spills. This thing is great and it's about all I use! I'm very happy with the result!

There's a tutorial on how to build the Puck and I'm glad to help anyone who wants to build one. It's easy and fun and rewarding too! Search the threads, post here or PM me..... I can post more construction pics and details if anyone wants.

Under construction with components soldered in place.

Inside of completed unit but with the hose wrapped around the atty before I thought of the fix for that.

Completed unit (before hiding exposed slack).

Wrapping the nozzle with a small strip of teflon tape. Don't cover the opening on top!.....

capecodjim-albums-pics-picture21393-cap.jpg

drilling to enlarge hole to accept tubing with a 1/16 bit..... go through to center of cap but stay clear of the sides of the solid plastic part being drilled through that you can't see in the picture.

Same pump unit on the outside of a Puck SD before making the new unit with it inside.

The Puck SD is built in a 4x AAA battery box. The pump unit is like a Puck SD inside but built in a 4x AA battery box so the bottle fits.

Thats for the tut! Nice work. The pump with hose is very much along the lines of recent ideas I had been mulling over.
Nice to see someone making it a reality.

About how much juice comes out in one pump?

Thanks kj!! It came together nicely and I lucked out that the 3ml bottle I ordered was more like 10ml and fit in here perfectly. I tried suction feed which worked fine with a thin juice but not with the thick homebrew I'm currently vaping.....

I had a mismatch of parts but the size and feel and operation are perfect!

The juice output is limited by the size of the hose and viscosity and this hose is pretty thin and the juice is almost all VG. The drilled out cap would deliver a large amount with a thicker hose and thinner juice.

I usually give a half press every 4-6 puffs for about about drop or a slow deep press for ~2-3 drops if it's really dry. The only "problem: I had was flooding the atty but I just blew it out the drain hole and figured it out the rythem pretty quick. I like to keep the atty nice and wet and each puff is constantly vaperful.... "happiness is a wet and warm atty".. sounds obscene! lol I was set on bottom feeding but this is the best of both worlds. I haven't had any leaks or spills. The only thing better would be a sealed auto feed.

I want something I can recharge via USB w/o removing the batteries so might have to switch from NiMH to Lipo on the next incarnation.....

I was just wondering about how this would work out for dripping. That sounds great.
Wonder if a slight modding would be possible using a washer like stated on the other juice "pumper" to limit travel and adjust juice. That way, for a dripper you get can get a constant or near constant 2 drops into the atty.

Envivioning some options for safely dripping while driving.

Yes, I think it would work great for dripping. You could prolly get the right amount just by feel within a day of using it w/o a stop washer.

I like the way it keeps the cart filler wet and every puff is like it was freshly dripped but with more flexibility and consistency. I like to drip sometimes... on to the atty or the cart filler to keep it topped off... but I can't see many advantages to dripping over a good feed system.

The only advantage dripping has is changing flavors quickly and smaller vape unit... but then u have a couple things to carry around.... I was always dripping too much and sucking it in or waiting too long to drip and getting a dry atty taste. Now the filler is always wet, the vapor is rich and thick and consistent... a lot less hassle and the vape couldn't be any fresher.

I think it would be great for driving... I know it is... It's road tested every time I go out now. I've dripped while driving and this is much safer and still provides top quality hits. Plus it's a closed juice system so no worries about leaks or spills if it's on the car seat or gets bounced around.

The pump bottle system can be added to any cart or drip tip just by drilling a small hole for the hose. It's not under pressure like the other end of the hose so it's an easier connection. A 9 volt battery clip holds the bottle perfectly as used in the "Suck-A-Puck" suction feeder in the sig pic a couple posts up. There's a lot of flexibility all around.

The ingenuity of the posters on this forum is truly amazing! Guys, many women have the perfect dripping pump in their cosmetic kits but I didn't realize it until I read this thread. I just dug out an almost empty bottle of Avon Anew Retroactive Eye Serum that's been in my drawer for about six years. It's 12 ml size and it pumps out an amazingly small quantity of serum of the same viscosity as most of my juices! Eye serum/lotion is, generally speaking, metered out at about 2-3 drops per pump because of the small amount needed for the under eye area. Okay, now run to your other half's cosmetic drawer and start digging! I promise not to tell. :2cool:

Might be easier to mod a lotion bottle from ebay like Moonman used on his UPAC. Wouldn't have those handy finger grips, but they add to the size too.
That's the one I use,4ml bottle, super easy to do. I take the mister out and insert a piece of IV tubing from bottle to cart.

Hey kj!... notcigs has a pre-made 6ml 2 drop dripper for $14.95

I think he's got a winner there and, of course, have my order in. His engineering is suberb so I'm sure it will work very well. I'm with David on the advantages of top feed vs bottom feed. Having the juice suck back into the bottle is what drove me to create my top feeder. Nothing fancy like SuperT, but it works by having the draw on the cart feed the atty....iow, no pumping.

The best part of vaping is everybody gets to do what works for them....pump, drip, spray, or draw. There's no right or wrong; simply personal preference

I'm not real excited about a $60 bottle holder. There's no new innovation with that unit except maybe separate air and liquid paths. The sight thing is cool but useless because you can't see the juice moving unless there are air bubbles... just like in a clear hose. I wonder if it leaks or floods when it gets turned upside down. The unit itself looks nice but I don't like the way it looks on a PV. It's "too external" and bulky. Not streamlined at all when attached to the PV.

I saw that thread and expected more from all the hype... but that was mainly from others, not him.

JF4.jpg

It's a great looking unit. Seems to be manufactured well and is nice and shiny but it's just a glorified bottle holder and it looks awkward to use and makes the PV look even like more of an oddity. Seems like you might need two hands to hold the PV and operate it. I don't see what he can patent on that puppy. Is there anything new? Am I missing something?

Parallex... I've become a fan and convert of top feeding also! My main objection was the hose but that's not really an issue for my pump model anymore.

I redid my suction feed model but now the juice empties back down the feed tube when it's not used for a while... the first attempt didn't do that... the tube stayed full... it has no no air leaks... maybe I shouldn't have cut the stretched out part off the end of the hose or angled it upward... back to the drawing board...

I love my pump unit and am working on the next revision......
