Just my thoughts. For dripping I see where a metered amount of juice is the ultimate desired effect.

So some ideas I had.

One of thouse blunt needle bottles, but the needle curved in a U shape. Would be nice if it fit a 5ml bottle.

Also thought of a nozzle attachment that fits a bottle, has a bulb in the middle of the nozzle tube. You squeeze the bottle to fill the bulb so you have your metered amount of juice. Then squeeze the bulb to get it into the atty.

I don't know, it's just late and I'm just spouting off.

Thanks, progg, I jumped in over there and added my $.02

kj, that's all any of us are doing here. Just batting around some ideas. I'm pretty satisfied with the way I'm doing things, but I'm always looking for something better. It's just nice to have a thread about this subject that isn't full of posts about cartomizers. ;)

I agree whole heartedly. This has been something on my mind for a long while since I started dripping, and I have even seriously considered that pump you reviewed.
For me, as you, mainly for driving safely. So far its just waiting for a red light or stop sign until I can find something that works for me.

Another thought I had was a feed bottle like on a mod, but can slip on/off my 510/Tornado. But then why not just get a mod with that set up? (well, cost is an issue at this time).

Oh, it works. Sort of. I've been using mine off and on for almost two weeks. But there's a couple of nasty surprises if you order that one from the Canadian vendor: first, they only take payment through AlertPay, which is a PayPal knockoff. Second, the cross-border shipping is woefully slow. The worst, however, is that it turns out not to be a purpose-built dripping device; it's a common precision oiler remarketed as a dripper. You can get the exact same thing here (and probably at a hardware store): Amazon.com: Titan 15200 Precision Oiler: Automotive.

It works, mind you. But it's not the godsend you might be imagining; the tip will spill if you don't cap it, which defeats, to a degree, the convenience factor for dripping & driving because both hands have to get into unscrewing it. And controlling the drip flow blind is difficult--it takes practice. I've flooded more than one atty in the process.

Bottom line: you'll likely do better with the nasal spray idea.

Thanks for the report PI. :)

There's other ideas besides the nasal spray within this thread as well. Take a read when you get a chance.

Thanks again.

I have posted this before and will share it one more time. some won't read the thread to find other alternatives so here is one: 1/2 OZ BOTTLE W/NEEDLE TIP The OP and a few others are working on various options trying to find a good solution. When on the go, I mostly use my feeder mods. I researched them quite thoroughly and concluded that the Journeyman and new Ali'i from Welcome to R&R Manufacturing - Handcrafted Battery Box Mods have the best bottom-feed system currently in existence (IMHO). I have the original JM unregulated 3.7/6V which uses a 3 ml bottle of juice, the regulated 5V JM which uses a 6 ml bottle, and I am in line for the yet unreleased (maybe this week) VariVolt new Ali'i which will also have a 6 ml bottle.

For my other mods, and dripping in general, the above linked bottle works wonders. I can drip blind (while driving, in the dark - movies, etc). I never HAVE to look as I can easily feel the end of the needle and the opening of a drip tip. this blunt needle also easily fits thru the tiny opening in the whistle tip of my preferred 320 attys (801 style). The drops are a bit smaller but you quickly get a feel for the length of a bottle squeeze for each drop equivalent about half a ("one-one thousand" count). The little cap comes off (I usually grab with my teeth) easily and goes back on easily too. The bottle does not leak even with top off - unless the bottle is squeezed. If I am driving (and not using a feeder mod), I leave the cap off and the bottle sits in a cup holder or the hand hold on my door's armrest. These are cheap and I have about ten of them (some as back-ups) and my top line-up of juices each have a bottle.

Hope this is helpful to someone.

Happy Dripping!

The needle bottle looks great and I want to try it. Does the needle need to be as long as it is? Can it be modified, cut down? Thanks in advance and I apologize if this has been previously discussed.

I can see no reason for the needle to "need" to be so long. That is just the way it comes and I never saw any reason to try to cut it down. If you can get a clean cut, why not? But, I would think you would have to grind the end after a cut so as to not has a sharp edge.

FWIW, this is a 1/2 OZ bottle = 15 ml. This needle cap also fits 15 ml juice bottles - the rounder ones. so, if you have those bottles, you can just put this top on those. I like the thinness of these bottles.

Just to give you an idea what you're dealing with VP,

The needle is approx .042" OD -- I don't have anything accurate and small enough to measure the ID but I'd ball park it at about .025".

It's non-magnetic and the length is approx 1.165"

I don't find it obtrusive for driving or night time applications.

Cutting it? something sharp, sharp while plugging the needle.
