spring problem eGo Variable Volt/Watt APV V2?

Is it me only or others too are having the same spring problem with the version 2 ?I thought it was fixed in the version 2 model so I brought two of them but I am having the same connection problem and I am pretty sure its the springs which are not holding the battery strong enough to keep the connection,a small jerk and the connection is lost.Btw I am using flat top 18650 battery's.

Thank you for the post here. all APV V2 comes with long springs now. could you take a picture, so i can look into it?

Even with the version 2 people are still getting this problem with flat tops.
Use the 18650 with the top nipple and you don't get this problem.
Use the IMR AW18650 bat
The best battery for this mod

Thanks for the suggestion maka,its really helpful,the best thing is I have some IMR AW18650 nipple top bat with me.but I brought 3 flat top bat from HC ,is there any way to use them with my apv?

I've heard you can use rare earth magnets to imitate a nipple top on a flat top battery. That may work. Note: please research this better before you try it as I have never attempted it, but others have with success. You can find rare earth magnets on ebay and other places. they're really inexpensive. I think a 5-6 mm diameter and 1-1.5mm thickness should work.

I'm using the 18650s from HC on this mod with zero problems.. you could try stretching the spring a tiny bit idk..

I just got my ego APV V2 in the mail today. I'm having spring problems as well. If I tap the mod it goes off for a split second. If it gets jostled, the unit turns off. I'm using EH IMR 18650 bats with a flat top. Here's a picture of the spring.

The problem seems to be flat top batteries. Try using a button top to see if the problem goes away. I want to get one of these, and want to make sure which batteries have problems and which don't, if that's the problem.

I just tested mine with en EH 18350 nipple top and it works. No rattling, no intermittent turning off. Problem is, the only 18650s I have are flat tops. I hope they can replace the spring. I'm going to message them

Edit: Just sent in a ticket with the pic of my spring attached.

Like I said, DON'T use flat top bats, use the nipple tops

It doesn't work well with 18650 flat top battery, also doesn't work with single nipple top 18350 protected battery. Hope HC will pay attention for these issues.

sorry for my late reply,I have used a rare earth magnet but the problem is still there,my end cape is different than frozen_coyote its not golden its silver color.Please help me guys.

We wil get a longer new spring that can fit all batteres and expect to get them ready next week or longer.

Thank you for your asking here. I am sorry for the problem with spring, because we did think that all 18350 or 18650 batteries are the same in length. Acutally they are not. What a shame!
The current spring is not long enough to fit all batteries. but it can fit most batteries. i think, it is your case.
We will get a longer new spring that should fit all batteries.

I will be ordering another apv during the Christmas sale, hopefully requesting a longer spring in the check-out comments will suffice?

Also, does this spring cave in the event of an overheating battery? This will ensure the battery breaks connection and stops firing in case of a battery catastrophe...

I'm using nipple top aw 18650 2000mah and the problem still can occur. Not often though but if I knock it accidentally it would shut down

Why don't you sell the batteries that fit this? Can't you stock AW batteries? That would eliminate this problem for many of us.

Why don't you sell the batteries that fit this? Can't you stock AW batteries? That would eliminate this problem for many of us.

They DO sell batteries that fit it, the joyetech 18650 on the site. I have 3 of them & they work flawlessly. Have had zero problems.
