With a fully charged battery, you're discharging just under 40 watts... so use that wattage to best effect.

I don't have specs for Royal wire, so I'm using Kanthal A-1 as reference. Is this a single coil build? If it is, the heat flux is very very hot, at 777 mW/mm².

If you raise the resistance, it will lower the wattage discharge and the heat flux will drop... but you lose coil surface area, which is a key factor in vapor density, as is juice VG percentage.

Per Steam Engine... If you build to 0.45Ω with 23 gauge wire, you increase surface area from 44.47 mm² to a whopping 135.3 mm²... and lower the heat flux to a far more pleasant, yet nicely warm 274 mW/mm².

There are hundreds of combinations... thousands actually, but with a mech mod, the first consideration is Ohm's law resistance to wattage parity... then optimizing the build for the wattage available.

Hmm ok, I'll have to try out a few more builds I only have 26 Royal Wire on me right now doing 3mm diameter builds.
With the 26... you might try a .80Ω build. Wattage would be 22 (at 4.2v), heat flux a warm 243 mW/mm² and surface area a pretty decent value of 87.82 mm². Heat capacity would be a fairly low 29.87 mJ/K. All in all... not a bad build.
