Had to post the picture. Wasn't aware of them and now it's all I want. I'll post when I get mine finished. Figuring a few things out first....

The second I saw a Floris enclosure I had to have one. Or some. As you can see.
These things are tiny and I love it!

I've contacted him. Requested a small customization to the design. Can't be hard to do. See what he says. 4am there.

I have yet to find a bf mech that hits as hard as my CC and upgraded REO with CC contacts.(haven't tried a pdib pinch or tmod, granted) The depth and width of this is about a REO correct?

I love the internals on the authentic frankenskull but, not the box. I could see that design performing well. And now I have the box.

I'm sure he can set you right, he answered every message I sent!

As for size, think Reo mini... the 14500 mini lol

I also really started to dig the mechanical setup of a lot of the 3D boxes like the frankenskull, but similar to you, I didn't like the enclosures. I also quickly discovered that there's not many places to buy a finished little orca outside the EU, so the answer seemed obvious.
Make them!

I'm sure you'll love it when you do get your hands on one!

I really don't know if I've got the skills or patience to assemble one...but those boxes are SO nice, it's got me thinking about it!!
I think you could do it. Happy to help once I'm finished......I still haven't ordered everything. Waiting on Floris' response and figuring what gauge silver sheet I should buy. Looking at a awesome performing, compact, custom, light bf mech for less than $90 with minimal effort.....

which connector are you thinking of?
I bought some varitubes for these enclosures, I think the design will work better than the FD connectors.
As for silver sheet, I've had some conversations with other folks with similar projects and this place has been recommended more than once.
Sterling Silver 4 Sheet, 20-Ga., Spring-Hard

I went back and forth about silver contacts and after even more conversations I settled on a different material. For my personal use I'm not worried about .1 / .2 difference in voltage drop and I've always built my coils to compensate for it anyways. Many Reo users will know what I mean lol... Maybe I'll splurge and pick up some silver sheet for one of them. That price tho....

But yes, with some basic tools and a little bit of effort, these will make first-class devices for sure!
There is a build tutorial out there for these, although it's in a foreign language, but if you can learn by watching then it's a good video for the basic idea of assembling one.

I planned on the black one being my beater / test device, so maybe I'll whack one together this afternoon using the FD connector I have handy.

Also, FWIW, pay the extra $4 to have the connector hole drilled. It's worth it for the precision hole, and the 510 connector base threads actually grab the material when you install it. Makes for a more solid feel IMO.
The frosted doors are friction-fit (but immaculate fit) while the carbon fiber doors are friction-fit (still immaculate) with a magnet on the battery side. I didn't get a clear door but I assume they fit the same as the frosted without magnets.
"No engraving" I believe only refers to the frosted doors that have his name on the inside, but the enclosures themselves and CF doors have no logos or marks, so unless you care about the door saying "Floris" in small and tasteful font, I wouldn't pay extra for "no engraving"
Just my personal opinions!

Good to know. Thought they were all magnet doors. Just not pictured that way. Don't like the idea of friction fit. May ask for magnets on the friction fit doors. Won't bother me. My request was for a tab, similar to the frankenskull box on the bottle side to hold the positive connection in place. My OCD.

I'm going with silver. Just ordered 20 gauge spring hard sterling 4"x2" for $37 shipped. Without any error 4"should be just long enough. It makes a difference I feel.

Will be getting the pilot hole and using VT bf 510 spring loaded. Been using FDV SL and they leak. Not horrible but, annoying.

Still a ways away but, Will post once completed...
