Greetings. I been thinking about getting my first squonker. I'm old school and still drip into my rda's. I prefer 2 18650's, but I'm not sure if squonkers really support 2. The majority I have seen is single. If I have too, I will buy a single battery squonk and enjoy the smaller mod. I saw a similar post like this when I searched, but it was from 2014 I believe so I thought an updated list would prove to be beneficial. Was looking at the pulse 22 BF also.

What is everyone's favorite squonker set-up?

Thanks =)

Hey @lopenator There are plenty of Dual 18650 Squonkers - my personal favorite is the Lost Vape Drone Squonker with the DNA 250C Board, but there are plenty of others.

Check out the Liquid Feed APV Discussion here on EFC for lots of info and us Squonkers

I have 4, Pulse X 80- single, Pulse Dual - dual bat, Drone -dual bat and a Topside Dual -dual bat. I like the Drone best followed by the Pulse dual...do not much are for the Topside...very heavy. The Pulse X 80 is simple and light, great in the pocket and will take a 21700 bat. Some Drones may leak just around the the 510 fitting, this happens when I use a Profile mesh as they tend to require fairly high pressure to soak the wick...using rayon.

I have a Drone amongst 6 or 8 other vapes. It became my main vape. I did a bunch or research when I bought it up to the point of also buying a VTX 200c squonk. I have not tried any of the various versions of the dovepo topside which also sounds like a major contender. It came out after I bought the drone. Both the drone and the competitive versions of the topside are in the +$100 price range.

If that is simply out of budget for you perhaps we can think of something cheaper.

No, that's not out of my budget.
Then I suggest the drone unless you want to triple or quadruple the price and get an even more solid hand made device case with nearly identical features. There’s also the higher end versions of the dovepo topside in that equation as well. I have no info on them myself.

I have several squonking mods but squonking isn’t my favorite way to vape. I’m a dripper too. The easiest squonk to use for me is the Pico Squeeze 2. It really can’t get much simpler and it’s small. Unfortunately it’s a regulated single battery mod. I even like the Coral 2 RDA that comes with the kit. It’s not bad for a kit RDA.

I’m sure you’ll get many more suggestions from people who are dedicated squonkers.

Good luck with whatever you get!!

Mech or regulated? I have a few regulated squonkers but the only squonker I use anymore is a Purge ultem squonk with a VLS rda.
A salient point.
If you’re already familiar with the safety issues and requirements of mechs (this is quite important) there may be a protected dual battery mech squonk out there with even better reliability than the ultra premium regulated stuff. I lack data on that.

Don't know what kind of builds you run, but a single 21700 battery mod can offer a nice balance of power and size. Batteries like the Samsung 40T offer 25A and 4,000 mAh, or if you need more amperage, a 30T is 30A 2,000 mAh. I vape in a midrange of 40-50W on regulated squonks, and there's no real advantage to me for a dual 18650 over a single 21700 to make the extra size worth it. On my mech squonks my builds are in the 0.3-0.5 ohm realm and a single 18650 is more than sufficient. It comes down to your vape style and preferred build.

Isn't the 40T a 30A and the 30T a 35A cell?

Here's the thing. I like to run warm vapes. I stopped using my 18650 single tube vapes because they couldn't supply me with the power I'm use too after my noisy cricket and VW devices. I have never used a 21700 battery before, but I been looking at the vindicator. You think I can get a warm vape with a dual coil on a vindicator? I don't want slow ramp ups. I see they have a 30amp CDR.

It's a shame because I love my penny mech, but it just doesn't cut it for me. Also I think I want to stock up on mechs before we can't get them in the US anymore lol.

Im just bored with my setup now and want something new.

Maybe. A 2x700 is not unlike 1.5 18650s.

I own 2 squonks that are dual 18650s : Desire design Rage squonk
and the Dovpo Topside dual.

I largely prefer the topside because it fills from the top so no need to remove that bottle ever.
Reviews seem to be mixed but i haven't had any issues with mine after 1+ month of constant use.

The desire rage is a great one aswell, but i hated the battery compartment, felt like i was gonna break my battery wraps everytime i switched but it functions very well (dare i say better than the topside imo). The desire is also much smaller than the topside but overall i prefer the weight and size of the topside.

Get some 20S batteries and use a hotter build for your penny mod

I also have the Desire Rage and it a solid mod. It’s heavy but looks good and functions very well in wattage mode and I don’t use TC. The refill is pretty easy the bottle just pops out the bottom, unscrew the top and fill, reverse the process and you’re set, it’s pretty quick and clean.
The Pico squeeze 2 is a nice single and with the 21700 it’s got lots of power. Other than that the Topside has a single cell and dual 18650 and are really popular. They also have a premium version called the Topside Carbon that’s dual 18650’s, has a Yihi chip, a looks sharp with this compressed carbon fiber process for the body. The Drone is the other premium choice with its dna chip and it’s been discussed. Best of luck, lots of good choices out there so choose wisely.
