SS GGTS 510 to 510 adapter wont fit ? Can't remeber!

Hey feeling really stupid right now!!
I have a SS GGTS and a UFS I have never used the collection tank from the SS GGTS yet and just got the 510 to 510 adapter and the shortie 510 to 510 adapter which is for the iatty I ordered can't wait for it to get here but when i try to thread the adapter to the collection tank it wont go Is the SS GGTS 510 ? Should these fit.

They should fit, but tolerances are really tight on the GG's. and sometimes the adapter threads are a bit off.
I used the 510/901 and 901/510 adapters on mine, and the 510/901 wouldn't go on. I ended up screwing the 510/901 adapter on a quarter turn at a time; I'm guessing the GGTS thread atually cut a fresh thread on the adapter! I've had no problems since then

Along the lines of what Clav said, remove the actual tank portion of the CT so you have full access to the connector, then connect the adapter that wont go onto an atty, then slowly screw the adapter into the connector as far as it will go and then back it off, repeat this over and over not using a terrible amount of force. Usually after each few times it will go just a bit further, sometimes it takes a really long time but I did eventually get it to work. Another option is to use some sandpaper on the adapter, which will obviously remove small amounts of the metal. The ssggts steel connector is obviously harder than the metal used to make an adapter so it should not cause a problem but you still need to be careful. Good luck.
