Hi, I'm new to the mesh scene, have tried fully seasoned wick, just under coil( both with pulsing and pulsing with cig paper under coils) and I've tried 34 and 32 ga kanthal. My coils usually hit around 1.8 to 2.6 ohms( I know, I'm still practicing ha). But the flavor for me is so muted! The best flavor I've had was recoiling my vivi nova and wrapping the fiberglass wick with the mesh. And even that seems incredibly muted compared to my fiberglass wicks, both stock heads and rebuilt ones. My aga s just seems like a waste : (. Everyone seems so happy with mesh( that is, until they try ceramic lol) Am I doing something wrong?

You might need to run a few tanks thru that mesh wick/ coil to get the flavor you seek.

100% cotton (boiled 15 min before use, and dried) will give you great taste instantly. Silica wicks taste the worst of all, imo.

Quick flame under the kanthal wire removes any machine oil residue also.

everything i have looses flavor pretty damn fast, i think due to i use 100% VG gear oil. lol
i haven't started wicking yet, that's next.
how long before the cotton looses flavor ?

I have never tried SS mesh but have been thinking about getting the AGAT2. I just cannot imagine ever being happier than I am with my trusty carto tanks. I was debating on ordering the AGA today but now reading this post I think I will keep thinking on it some more. Thanks OP. Sorry I cannot help you with the problem bet you did help me.

My daily go to juice delivery devices are cartotanks. However, my evening vaping, when at home, is done on RBAs. Liken to the cartotanks, when an RBA is set up properly, the flavor and vapor production is second to none.

Thus far, I have used SS mesh, SS wire rope, and mesh/silica hybrid wicks. Planning on experimenting with ceramic wicks, soon.

- Andy . . . Don't let the Ciggieman getcha . . . Vape'em.

I've experimented with different silica, cottons, and meshes and of them seem to work pretty much equally well... in the right device. If you have plenty of liquid being wicked to the coil and plenty of airflow to carry the vapor to you before the coil has a chance to over cook it it will taste great. The smaller the head, the more difficult it is to get awesome flavor IMHO.

I like silica best for sub-ohm, mesh for just over 1 ohm, silica or various cotton above that. I slightly prefer cotton over silica in a larger coil (dripper) and silica over cotton in tiny coils (vivi, stardust, etc.)

YMMV

I am not familiar with 100% VG and the effect it has on equipment, so I have no clue. I'm sure it reacts differently and it must clog up coils a bit faster.

I vape high VG liquids, anywhere from 50-50 to about 20-80 (pg-vg)... While VG is quite a bit thicker I don't find it "clogs up" wicks any faster than PG. It's all about the actual flavor of the juice and how hot you are vaping it. Darker liquids tends to plug up wicks quicker than clear ones, etc.

Maybe it is the size of your mesh? I have heard 325 mesh wicks best for high VG compared to 400/500 mesh. There are a lot of you tube vids on ss mesh. Check out the riptripper vids.
