I'm writing to see if you anyone is familiar with any High Temp Electrical Insulation materials that can be used to insulate a SS Mesh Wick in an AGA-T2 tank's Deck Wick Hole. I'd like to make it work like an RSST. I want to electrically isolate the Wick from the Deck. Of course, if it had a T-top stop rim, that would be great, so the Wick couldn't push it through the Hole, but I could deal with just a tube-type insulator.

Shrink Wrap has been suggested, but I feel certain that Shrink Wrap would not be adequate. I don't want anything that could Burn during the Kanthal Wire's Burn-In process, where the Mesh could get hot enough to Glow Red, no matter how briefly that may be.

I called McMaster Carr today, and they either don't have anything, or the Salesperson I spoke with wasn't familiar enough to know.

My AGA-T2's have the standard 2.5mm Wick Holes, so I've been rolling 70mm of 500 SS Mesh into a No-Center-Hole Wick to about 3/32" and it fits nicely. But I keep popping the top wrap. Part of this is due to what I have to use right now (not a PV), but another part is that the Kanthal is shorting to the Mesh, because the Mesh is shorting to the Deck. So I'm thinking an Inside Diameter of that same 2.5mm in the Insulator would be good. I could drill out the Deck's Wick Hole to accommodate the Insulator's OD, and even cut in a ridge around the hole to accept one with a T-top, so the Coil could be full length.

I'm trying to go as fully Unoxidized as I can. The Videos I've seen on the RSST make it look a lot easier, with the Coil Burn-In going from Top and Bottom at the same time, meeting in the middle. But I cannot use a tank with a Plastic Tube, so the RSST is out for me.

I don't really need a Burn-In procedure explained. I'm looking for a good PV for that. I know of the Vamo V2 (in SS - don't want a Brass V3) and the Provari, but I'm still looking for the one I want to purchase. All I need right now are some suggestions for an Insulator. And if you'd like to suggest some good PV's for the Burn-In, other than a Provari (which I cannot afford), I'd appreciate it, but I don't need the procedure explained.
Thanks in advance. :toast:
