ST nano pre-built coil wicking issues (yes you've probably seen this before)

Help. I've looked around but I'm just not around here often enough to drill down and am hoping for some tips.

Kanger sub-tank nano prebuilt coil issues - I'm having crazy awful wicking problems with this thing. Seems to only be with the 1.2ohm coils (which is mostly all I have). I've gone through 4 of them now (or rather about to 4 - I can tell it's on the way out after an hour or so). They're fine for 10-20 pulls then I get a BAD dry hit out of nowhere (not the normal sort that sneaks up as a wick dries) and ohm reading drops to <0.5. Lots of air bubbles, re-seating the atty and/or coil, checking the o-rings, tightening up the air-flow, lowering wattage (this has happened each time anywhere between 11 and 20 watts), different juices... nothing has remedied it - it's just not wicking properly. A TON of air-bubbles float out when I jiggle the atty after a pull. And this isn't chain vaping (not that it should matter). Eventually the atty will burn again (I can see it on 1 side only when it starts going out - glowing fast and red like a really bad hot leg), the ohms will drop again and then a 2nd time and it'll go dead.
Both the 1.2ohm that came with it, and the 3 from the replacement pack I bought have done the same. Meanwhile the 0.5 ohm ST coil I had that came with it lasted for more than 2 weeks without any issues like the above. Jussssst about had it. Any experiences like this had by folks out there?
This ain't my first rodeo - I mostly drip and have had a couple Nauts for on-the-go vaping when I wanna shove something in my pocket and picked up the ST Nano in hopes the coils would last longer.
Anyhow... ideas. I'm about to bin the thing.

You could try the trick of poking a sewing needle right through the wick/coil. This can improve things. Im surprised you are having so much trouble. I didnt have too many problems with the regular heads, just the Ni200 versions which are rubbish. Failing everything, you might give the newer vertical coil heads from Kanger...

Cheers - thanks for the tip. I actually did try the needle trick late last night. Didn't work for the first try but the one I have in there now seems to be doing ok. I'm not really sure that was the issue though: this is the 5th 1.2ohm coil I've put in since getting the tank (have one more unopened) and it is the first one that actually read a proper ohm on the iStick when installed. It read at 1.22 and is still at that about 14 hours later and a good 100 puffs in at least. The other 4 all had initial readings that were lower - in the neighborhood of .9 to 1.1. Very odd. The single .5ohm coil that came with the tank (I think I mentioned) read properly as well and lasted a solid 3 weeks (which is why I'm just having this problem now - I ordered the tank and coils about a month ago).
Also incidentally - I am running the vertical coils, not the older variety. We'll see if this one holds out but a big drag to have 3 duds in a row. :-/
