Just curious, why do you want to stack batteries? Curiosity, cause others have done it?

Stacking batteries will give you more power. You will get higher voltage at the expense of current. Power is wattage so raising voltage to achieve a target wattage requires less current. But that's not necessarily a good thing. I prefer lower voltages (1 battery) as far as vape quality. Stacking batteries will not give you any increase in battery capacity. Stacking batteries is running them in series so you are not doubling the capacity, capacity will still be what 1 battery is rated at.

Ohms law will tell you what resistance you need to make you coils. No one can tell you cause they don't know what wattage/vape you are after. No disrespect but if you don't understand how to make a proper coil for stacking batteries you shouldn't be doing it or need to learn much more about it. There are other risks & dangers you need to know about, it's not as simple as taking two of your batteries, popping them in, & make a coil.

The VV REO uses stacked batteries as that is how it was designed. I would prefer another configuration, but Rob designed it that way so that is what I do

On my mechs I would never do it, and even with only one battery I use fuses for them whenever I use an RBA/RDA.

Since you didn't specify which REO you are using, I can't answer your questions. However, if it is the mech you can wrap your coil however you like your vapor to be. For me, too low is just too hot with too much TH but others really like that.

Question for the knowledgeable.. what's the benefit of stacking batteries in my grand? I do use safer batteries, aw imr.

Which batteries should I stack?
What ohms should I wrap my coil to? (RM2)
What difference will I notice over my 1.2 ohm 18650 experience?

I read where you posted you have a Grand and another Grand on the way, both with RM2's

1 - None, you shouldn't stack batteries in a Grand. It is a bad idea for several reasons, not the least of which is they just don't fit. Two AW IMR 18350's compress the battery spring so much it has no room to shrink.
2 - Wrap it to what you prefer. Some vape up to 2.0 - 2.2 on their Grands, some like it as low as .5ish ohms.
3 - The difference in a 1.2ohm coil at 4.2v and a 1.2ohm coil at 8.4 would be something like the single battery will heat juice and created vapor, the double batteries at that resistance will cook juice and maybe pop your coil, it would not be a nice vape. You would be going from just under 15w to just under 60w.

If you want to get a crazy hot high amp vape, for some reason, then put nothing but AW IMR 1600mAh 18650's in your REO (24a limit) and wrap up a coil that does it for you.

Thank you great info!!

Assuming your batteries are REO-appropriate AW IMR 18650 that won't develop a hot spot at the switch contact with the button top, wrapping a 0.5Ω coil out of 26 AWG Nichrome 60 (or a 0.6Ω out of 26 AWG Kanthal A1) will blow your 1.2Ω away. It will be so bad (in the good sense of the word), your housemate(s) will complain about the constant fog in the room. Even if you were a 60 ring gauge only cigar smoker in your previous life, you'll probably back off to a bit higher resistance for day to day use. And you won't be crushing your hot spring beyond usefulness as you would with stacked batteries.

Easy as PIE... P = I x E (P being power, I being intensity, aka current in amps, E being electromotive force in volts) You can get power either way.

You've also got to keep batteries for stacking paired. They need to be balanced in their charge too. If they aren't balanced and in series, when you close the circuit with the fire button the higher charged batt will try to charge the lower one. If the difference between the two is big enough you can get a lot of current flowing and possibly cause one to vent. The protection of the spring is gone because its smashed, your coil would be like a fuse but if you are using bigger wire it probably won't pop in time.

Just some things to consider, avoidable but you need to know about these things to avoid them.
