Does anyone else dislike stainless steel cartos? The main reasons
I dislike stainless steel cartomizers is because, without the paper
covering, the carto is less insulated and will feel hotter to the
lips. The look is less appealing when used with my white and black
cigalike type battery. I prefer white, black or the speckled orange
color that looks like a marlboro red filter. It is also less
comfortable to the teeth.

Because I have some missing and loose teeth I try to use a rubbery
drip tip but to my knowledge, the only American vendor who carries
them is SI, which calls them comfort tips. FT recently started
carrying a “soft plastic drip tip” which I prefer because they
are softer and more flexible than than the SI comfort tips

Well, I always put my cartos in tanks and I love the way SS looks and performs in those. I don't get why you care that bare SS gets hotter as I imagine you always use a drip tip.

Really hope things work out for you

Wouldn't be using a drip tip with a carto on a cigalike battery... Just the little rubber insert with the hole in it.

I use carto tanks heavily but I also use cartos on cigalikes when active. I know people will not understand until the try but a drip tip is not always a good thing when using a cigalike, it adds a lot of length for those times when you want to keep the weight in closer.

I agree with you. For short use the steel does not bother me but I have had some get painfully hot.

What I have been doing (not perfect but it works) is cut a carto condom and put it over the carto. I don't like the extra diameter it adds but it works.

Any recommendations for those of us that do not want to add any length? I use a cut off condom but that is not ideal.

I wonder if there is a thin wrap of some type that would work.

There's nothing I know of that's purpose made for that, but possibly heat shrink tubing? Buy some that's slightly larger in diameter than the carto and insulate the last half inch or so?

image.jpgWhat about the "friend tips" those disposable sample trying tips that go over the carto? I like the rubber ones but yea that fall out real easy. Only way I've found to keep it from happening is submerge it in a drip shield... This is a pic with it on Serenity but the idea is the same, even for stick battery... Just slide it up to a point where it stays in.

Edit: rubber tips on both her and the 'Vari, actually
