I just bought a satin stainless steel Provari Wednesday. I notice a smell after holding it for a while. It's the same smell as when ever I am holding metal tools. My hands don't like metal, I guess. If I were to have a colored Provari do you think it would cause the same chemical reaction with my skin? For now I've just slapped some Di-Noc on the grip so I'm not touching the metal. I was considering a colored one only if it doesn't cause the same problem.

Any thoughts??

Thanks!

Yeah, what they said.

The colored ones are a special ceramic epoxy type stuff so it shouldn't react to your body chemistry. The new ZenKote color(s?) are molecularly bonded metals, so I don't know how those would react.
If nothing else, you should be able to mask off the button and screen and spray it with a clear coat paint. :)

I just got a silver one also. But not the satin shiny one. And I was not liking the metallic smell at all. I was thinking in time it will go away. And now that I've had it almost two weeks, it does seem a little less noticeable. Plus today when I did my weekly provari cleaning on all 3, I rubbed it down with bounty paper towel... hard rub down. I think that helped too. Definitely better then when it was brand new.

That gives me hope that it might go away! For now I just slapped some Di-Noc on it. Ugly as all get out, but for now it's ok. After seeing the custom paint job in the classies I'm thinking I could paint the crop circles pink....hmmm...
