This might be something that has already been discussed, but I just read about it.This was on BMJ.com tobacco control. Glantz wrote a"research paper" attempting to connect AFP,Freedom Works and other conservative groups to financing by Big tobacco. I certainly doubt that it is true. I know AFP has fought total smoking bans based on the issue of private property rights. He,Amanda Fallen, and Rachael Grana published this as a research paper. Fallen and Grana did all the research--using Legacy Foundation library. Glantz fluffed it up for writing a research paper. Glantz is a Democrat and this sounds like pure politics to me. I should imagine this is the way he always does his "research"--by using others to do the "research" and he then makes the "research" fit his thesis for whatever end result he wants. Nice job if you can get it. Just get a grant for reaching a conclusion those giving the grant want you to reach. Then release it to the public and repeat it over and over until it becomes "fact". This from a man whose degree is in Mechanical Engineering and talks about post Doctoral education in cardiology. Just want does that mean--he audited a class on cardiology or just read a book about cardiology? Mr. Godshall, please comment about this "paper". I would like to know what you know about this latest fireball from this man.
