I've had a few clearo/stardust/ce4 give me dry hits no matter what I did and even after cleaning, dry burn, tilting upside down and what not to make it wick properly I decided to experiment with adding another short piece of wick on top or a little longer depending if my clearo had a short or long wick and it did work. The extra piece of wick helped the main on to keep wet. I haven't had a dry hit after that.

I actually got that idea to try that when I got my 6ml Esco E2 kit. those 6ml have an extra wick added on top so figured I would try it on my stardusts and other clearo that were giving me a hard time and it worked.

Any tips or tricks for these?

Seems like they work decent for the first few fills.... every few hits i would get a dry one but got around that by holding it upside down and hitting it without pushing the button...

this works for a while but now all im getting is nasty dry hits that taste like a month old carto before i pitch them.

havnt took one apart yet but looks like im gonna have to.

I just cant find anything that doesnt do one of the following, dry hit, taste nasty after a while, or leak.

i cant wait to get my scubagen v3 mini in a coop deal. Im also thinking of building a rebuildable carto using stainless mesh as a filler.

I have a viva nova and phoenix tank on the way but prolly get more of the same there

Here is how to fix this see most of the coil heads are fine and allot of people think its the head or the quality of wire but its the plastic cap is the REAL issue get yourself some really fine small scissors and take off the plastic cap and cut 2 V's going up on both sides across from each other this will allow the juice to flow into the coil easier.

So what causes this problem and why do you need to do it? well thats the question I asked myself for a long time but its a structural design flaw with the stardust when you screw on the top cap its to long and this puts to much pressure on the rubber cap which instead of letting the juice get to the core coil it instead creates a vacuum and this results in no juice to the coil and thus you get that nasty ... burnt taste.

So final result is After I modded my rubber cap with some small cuts to allow the air flow it its working perfectly but make sure to not make the cuts to big or you will flood the coil.
