Check that cap the metal piece should have two diff sides. The flat piece should be down and the funnel looking part up since it butts up to the drip tip hole. Also make sure drip tip is set tight if loose can get juice spray in mouth. Other than that I would get a new supplier.

ya the heads are defiantly the issue btw I just noticed the metal slip in the cap doesnt have a point it is a recessed dip in and the bottom is flat (kinda like a small cup but hole in center) btw where do you buy your heads at because it makes me wonder if they even gave me the right head caps or units for this damn thing

Here is some pictures I took of the heads and there seems to be some paper crap around the coil ... is this ? *(I havent seen paper stuff before)* I guess can you confirm this is normal or not because something is causing the taste its either the coil wire or this cardboard .... around the coil but I dont know enough about this stuff at this point to know what it would most likely be.

So you get no metal taste whatso ever? and did you fray your wicks or leave them as originally shipped because my biggest gripe with it is the metal taste and nulled flavor I just wish I had a answer as to why this is happening =\ it pisses me off bad.

I'd heard some folks complaining about the off taste on a new head, so I always rinse my new heads in hot hot water before the first time I use them, and I've never had any off flavor.

There is an issue with flavor muting. I've found this decreases as the head gets broken in. I think maybe the wicks get softer and spread out more, but I have no idea really. I tried unbraiding the wicks, and I was pretty stoked at first, as the flavor did seem to improve some. But I rinse and dry burn every couple of days, and those unbraided wicks start to break off and degrade *really* quickly. I ended up replacing that head in a week because I was afraid of inhaling wick particles. Maybe I did it wrong?

I saw a minor mod where the poster rolled up a thin strip of cotton (think toothpick sized) made from sterile rolled cotton from the drugstore and laid it over the top of the coil, and cut tiny notches in the bottom of the cap so that it wouldn't be choked off. It was reported to increase flavor. I tried this with some cotton I had, but I could taste the cotton. I was thinking of getting some cotton wick, boiling it a few times, and trying again with a piece of that. I don't really want to rewick with cotton, because I like to dry burn it to clean it, but a replaceable overwick would be cool, if it does help.

I don't think its paper I have those in mine I believe its silicone as it doesn't burn. Have you washed them and dryburned?

ya I have tried that doesnt seem to do to much =\ but I did find it odd that in stardust heads that paper looking thing inside isnt in other heads which makes me kinda wonder.

you know it seems like the wicks on these heads mabey coated with something on them that differs from stardust heads because stardust v3's are like instant break ins and no wicking issue but not really sure. Im someone new to some of this stuff and literally over the past month I have been trying new things and just reading like crazy mainly these forums but no real idea where to go on this one except mabey just blindly order some 1.8 ohm heads from a different supplier and hope for the best.

Take the nova completely apart wash everything in hot water. Blow through the center post just to dry it a bit. Take center post put head on after drying wicks slightly, there will still be water by the coil. Attach that part only to batt without silicone cap. Start hitting the power in 5/6 sec bursts. Keep doing it till the coil glows red. It will smoke a bit depending on your juice. When coil glows red take off let cool and then rinse the head by itself. Dry it all off blot wicks , ck silicone cup on right fill and vape. You may have to let it sit a minute to start wicking.

I like the vape from the stardust but the past couple days mine have been a little flakey. I woke up this morning to find one had leaked from the bottom. Also, the tanks are prone to fogging with certain juices. At least with the vivi nova I can get a metal tank. Vivi Novas are only good on VV devices, while stardusts work well on a standard ego battery.

What version is it because I run mine with a iTaste VV v3 and I run mine on 3.7v and I only had it leak out the bottom when I accidentally had the voltage at 4.3 from a diff tank / coil.

Also I read somewhere you can clean the heads with vodka prior to dry burn and it will remove the funky taste but I have one thats lasted like 3 weeks and the wicks are falling apart more so than the taste I haven't used the vodka one but I use rubbing alcohol (iso) ever 3-4 tanks to clean head however I was cleaning it every tank prior which is prob why my wicks were getting torn up.

The only real difference between the two is air flow management, and which one will work best is totally dependant on the 510 connector that you attatch it to. If you do what's needed for proper air flow they will both vape the same.

As for replacement heads, I would suggest only getting Stardust heads because they work in both, little spike on top and all.

Thats interesting the Stardust head dont work well in the full Vivi Nova its a hair to big and top wont screw on all the way but when I did try a stardust head in it the taste and flavor was a hell of allot better than the vivi nova heads lawl I should have got the vivi nova mini to try instead.

The "Paper" that you see, is it inside the head (Wick going through it?) if so, its' actually an insulating cloth / sheath.
I've been using novas, and I feel that the flavor isn't as strong as it whould be from my cartomizers. right now i"m aquiring heads for the "hardware" so I can rebuild later on once i get some materials.

I have not had any problems with heads on my Mini Vivi Novas from Gotvapes. I'm sure there are fakes around.
In some of the rebuildable threads I have read that using nichrome instead of kanthal wire can give off a metallic taste.
I believe that cup is there to insulate the coil from the sides of the tube to avoid shorts.
In this Pbusardo Tutorial he just removes that part. Rebuilding the heads looks very easy, but I have not tried it yet.
