I acknowledge that the answers to my questions may be out there but after an hour of searching hopefully this will be easier so Iappre your answers.

I started out with a Crown Seven Gladiator battery and I've had very little trouble with their batteries thankfully. However I've had problems with clearomizer tanks and I'm trying to figure out how to get the most bang for my buck while getting a great Vape.
Tried the Vape USA clearomizer and it works, albeit after one clean and dry burn it's ready for another now but still working.

Big problem is my Iclear 16 vw/vv clearomizer. I've been using it for a while now and have had the coil replaced once. Since then I cleaned it and dry burned once but it retained a clog. Cleaned it today with water, soaked all parts in 80 proof rum (don't drink vodka), rinsed, scrubbed out remaining burnt gunk as much as possible with a q-tip rinsed and reassembled. It seemed to work fine for the dry burn however after adding fluid I observed what appeared to be a spark upon my first draw then nothing. No sizzle, no Vape, nada. Is the coil screwed and I need to buy a new one or is their some DIY solution out there?

Thanks

its sounds like using the qtip you may have pushed the coil against something metal. that would cause it to short out which could explain the spark you noticed followed by nothing happening.

at that point there are 2 options. either replace the head on the iclear or rebuild the coil provided you know how and have the materials on hand. for most the replacement heads are easier and less time consuming, rebuilding does allow you to vary your results and get optimal results.

Great I wondered if that was the case, weird thing is I dry burned AFTER using the q-tip, replaced the plastic tip and then it shorted. I've been checking out the Iclear bottom coils online, any good? Was wondering if it would reduce the chance of burning the wicks or dry hits as I'm a bit of a chain vaper. Also before I sort through a bunch of posts are the vision twist or spinners pretty decent? I really don't want to invest much more into this unless it's rebuilding my tanks but I'd like to upgrade to a better battery sometime soon.

hi crayzredneck, welcome to ECF

is this the kit your talking about ?
- Gladiator Kit - Crown7
suggest have a look at one of these...
- Kanger Evod Starter Kit

if your looking to fix your i16, it sounds like you just need
to replace your coil...

- innokin iClear Dual Coil Heads
- Kanger EVOD bottom coil clearomizer
- universal Protank and Evod coils

vodka or everclear (PGA) is better (pure, clear)
rum has sweetners in it...

good luck

Yup definitely is. I stumbled on that last night although I'm debating on picking up a vision twist or spinner instead. And I'll be fixing the Iclear ASAP. And I may have to pick up some vodka then, I'm assuming no one uses rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide due to either the seals or I'm guessing possible side effects if accidentally vaped when not rinsed all the way?

yepper, definitely need variable volt for peak performance

I'd say rule of thumb, if you don't consume it then I wouldn't use it ( peroxide or rubbing alcohol )

- Kanger eVod VV (Variable Voltage eVod Battery) - Sun-Vapers.com
- Innokin Itaste VV Third Edition - Sun-Vapers.com
- Joye eGo Rechargeable Batteries
- Joye eGo Rechargeable Batteries

You shouldn't be "scrub" cleaning the atty head. Rinse it warm water right after taking it out of the tank (while it is still wet). Get all the sweet juice rinsed out. Let it dry over night. Blow on the coil while dry burning. If you want to take the extra step, rinse it again after dry burn and let it dry over night.

If you push the coils around, you will move it and it can cause
- hot spot
- shorts
- break the coil

best approach is to, keep the cleaning and dry burning process simple and replace them when they don't clean up anymore. at a few bucks, if you get 3 - 4 weeks out of each, no need to try to get more out of it.
