Halo also was the brand that succeeded in helping me quit smoking when I was in the same shoes as you, I chose to go all in with Halo... and I regret it now that I know more than I did then. I have multiple G6's and Tritons but I have been less than satisfied with their tanks. I ended up getting a SmokTech SiD and an Ego and I can pick up a tank or clearomizer about anywhere I'm at in a pinch because they use the most common threads, I can experiment with all sorts of tanks/clearomizers, and I have found ones I like a lot more than Halo's. I wish instead of diving headfirst into Halo beyond G6, that I would have just went to Ego instead and set the G6's aside for emergency. Now I have these Triton VV's collecting dust alongside them. They are great batteries, just not many options with them.. and I like my options.

Thanks tippy club, I think i'll go with Halo for now. Which battery did you get? 450 or 650? what is the difference?

The mah rating is an indication of how long the battery will last between charges. As a general rule of thumb:

450mah = 4.5 hours of continuous vaping
650mah = 6.5 hours of continuous vaping
1300mah = 13.00 hours of continuous vaping

I wouldn't swear by it but for comparison I believe the G6 batteries are rated somewhere around 320mah. (give or take a few mah)

Congrats TomTom! I also started w/G6 carts, quickly ordered the Halo mini tanks and right after that the Triton w/lrg tanks and LOVE all of the Halo products!!!!! The juices are awesome too! I'm already looking into the Triton VV and hopefully, Halo keeps adding great things to their PVs (glass tanks...plz!!!!) and more juice flavors!

I know it can be a little bit of a pain not to be able to use other tanks on the Triton besides Halo's but the shipping is pretty fast and it does make me plan in advance and make sure I have all the supplies I need to last me awhile. There maybe fancier, cooler looking mods out there, but I have had ZERO issues w/Halo...no leaks, bad batteries, coil issues..nothing. And to me, that's totally worth it!

Since Halo's stuff is 808 threaded, you can use other vendors stuff that sells 808 gear. Smokeless Image is another well regarded company, there are others. I find Halo's gear to scream quality, and often get it for friends who want to start on ecigs. I personally love a few of their liquids, wish they sold them by the gallon.

I personally recommend getting both 808 and 510 threaded gear, then you get the best of both worlds and have no limitations on buying new stuff.........

I also started with Blu and quickly moved on to Halo G6. I am unable to vape Halo's juices due to an apparent PG sensitivity but my husband loves their Captain Jack and I just ordered two big bottles for him.

I haven't had much of a chance to really give my G6 a workout because I've been waiting for 100% VG juice to arrive in the mail but it finally came yesterday afternoon and my Halo battery charge lasted significantly longer than the Blu ever did.

The thing that helped me the most was finding a brick and mortar vape shop and getting one on one time with the owner sharing his knowledge and experience plus letting me try different juices with different hardware. That was invaluable.

I am quickly realizing that and plan to make my first visit this weekend to a newly opened vape shop in my area. It shouldn't be this complicated though, but I guess with a nascent industry such as vaping, you are going to have this issue.

As for Halo's G6, I quickly switched from carts to the mini tanks. However, I cannot seem to get more than a few days out of a mini tank before burning my juice. I tried cleaning the tanks in water as suggested in a YouTube video, to no avail. I know they are cheap compared to packs of analogs, but $3.99+shipping online is getting a little ridiculous.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am about to order my first vaping gear ever and I'm leaning towards Halo Triton setup possibly with the VV battery. What would you recommend instead for about the same cost? I'm still deciding...

Thanks!

Angie it was your posts that made me decide to just go with the Halo. I couldn't wrap my head around all the different vendors and products and decided that simplicity was better at this stage for me. I loved the color choices, the look of the device and the nice shiny box it came in. So Thanks!

You won't be sorry. I didn't want to play, fix, repair, change....anything. I just wanted to load and vape. I have the G6, carts then mini tanks moved to the Trition 400 and just got yesterday Triton 900 mAh and the Triton VV. :oops:

I'm done w/batts until they burn out. Now I'm just playing with flavors! Enoy!!! And be sure to hit the Halo forum..lots of valuable info and chances to win FREE 30 ml juice! :vapor:

I was really looking into the Halo Triton until I noticed it didn't use normal 510 threads. I want compatibility with better cartomizers and tanks, not to be stuck with one maker's stuff forever. Many ppl love them though, if you just want to get a set and stop there I'm sure they're plenty fine.

Aren't there adapters out there for Triton to 510 connections (or others)? I don't know how overall effective though these contraptions are.

I ordered the G6 kit for the sake of simplicity, as someone before me said, and have no regrets - I just wanted a kit with juice and Halo made it easy for an overwhelmed noob. Was it the cheapest option out there? No - but I've been analog-free for over 2 mos and I credit the ease of "one stop shopping" with getting me where I am today.

The G6 batteries just don't last long enough, however, so now I have an iTaste VV v3 and my partner has a KGo vv. We still use the G6 when we're out and about (we've got 6 batteries between us!) and the bigger ones around the house. To simplify the switching between the two, I picked up a couple 808 to 510 adapters from Myvaporstore. Now, if I'm vaping a G6 cart or mini tank and want to use it on a longer-lasting battery, I just put the adapter on and go!

Exactly how I feel. While the G6 battery may not last long enough for some it works just fine for daily inconspicuous use in the office, while being supplemented by using a Triton around the house. I believe it serves the purpose of concealing in a pocket with a cartomizer for the occasional fix throughout the day. Once I am Home , or on the weekends, it is all about the Tanks & bigger batteries.
The only reason I could see for wanting other equipment/threading, is for the cool personalization available with Mods. IMHO

My vaping experience started inline with what AngiBe and Kittybite posted = simplicity. I had questions about interchangeability of batts and cartomizers too and found a year old cross refrence at Northwest Vapors E-Cigarette Standards | that sorted out things like a KR808D-1 batt is a 901 design thread style. 8-_|

Hey, I didn't know batts had genders!

All that info was posted here at ECF by Burnie, but he left Halo off the 901 list http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...omparison-threading-chart-2.html#post10679888

I also started with the g6 and it was great but I wanted something more. The g6 minitank will give you better flavor wit the g6 than the cartos.
I upgraded to the triton when it came out and absolutely love the setup, except that the drip tip can break and halo doesn't offer a replacement, you have to buy a whole new tank.
As a newbie I've yet to find a drip tip that will fit.

Kanger T2 tank tips will fit on the Triton tanks.
