Just wondering what a good starter rba is. I would like to be able to build dual coils on it in the future, or right away. I've just got my ego's and an mvp2 for now, so no sub-ohming or anything crazy like that.

Looking at aga-t +, and I'm not sure what else. And all of the threads about the aga + seem to be from months ago, so just wondering if there's anything newer in that category for the same basic functions.

Looking to spend $30-40 MAX. Unless you can really convince me of otherwise lol. As of now I have evods, an iclear 30, and a t2. So I'm just looking for a step-up with some potential for building dual coils. Thanks!

When I first started getting into RBA/RDA/RTAs I bought an octopus to play around with, you can get them for less than $10 same with the "scar" both can do dual coil. "scar" can do dual easily and is also less that $10. So my advice is buy some super cheapos and play around with them for a while, then get something more expensive.

I recently got an Igo-L as my first. Definitely a good starter point for me personally! Easy to build and maintain. Using cotton wicks and it's been excellent so far! And for just over $10 it's worth it in my opinion! If you would like the option for easier dual coil builds I would go for the Igo-W mentioned earlier!

IGO-L Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer

BUY A MULTIMETER! (Unless you have an APV of course :))

I've got the mvp2 with an ohm reader. But I'll probably use my cat 3 meter that I've used once in about a year and a half lol.

I can't recommend the Igo drippers enough. Great flavor and vapor production at a very low price point. I use an Igo-T on my SVD at 1.5 ohms and absolutely love the vape. Also have an Igo-W on my Bagua for my sub ohm needs. Dripping can be a little redundant, but if it gets you a vape you like then it will become part of your routine. Its all personal preference.

Igo-l for me is a beast. It's my first RBA and it just trumps all my clearos. I use it on my MVP 2 with a 1.8 ohm coil. I did a ton of research before purchasing and found the igo-l to be the most recommended. It's dirt cheap, easy to maintain/clean and easy to rebuild.

The igo-l mvp2 combo is a sure win in my opinion.

Also make sure you buy a 510 drip tip with the igo-l because it doesn't come with one. You can get them almost anywhere you buy your igo. I got all my supplies from altsmoke.com

The go to starter RBA has been the RSST for the last year. It's a genny, but without temperament. Wicked with mesh first time, it worked, and every time since has worked. Easy Peasy.

I like bottom coil silica/cotton builds and prefer the Kayfun's and their many incarnations. You can find the RSST for $20 at several shops. Try 101Vapes. Think I saw it for $19.99, but I've seen that price several other places as well. Need an ohm meter, mesh (400?) and 32 kanthal to start. How hard can it possible be to wrap wire around a toothpick sized piece of metal 3 -4 times? Come on.....EASY. A few attempts is generally all it takes any of us. One hard part can be the air flow, not the wicking. No air flow, no vapor. All the coils in the world will not work without proper air flow.

Also, the Kayfun, or clone, with a simple build with silica or cotton is also very easy and I like that vape the best. More advanced but similar is the Taifun, which can use mesh and silica/cotton at the same time, but also very easy to do.

Microcoils are harder than a simple compression/tension wrap. Exotic coils with fancy names more difficult. Dual coils is often two simple coils, but on a platform large enough to accommodate them, usually with twice the air flow. None of them is hard and there are plenty of great threads on building them.

What is most important is the science: Learn Ohms Law and Battery Safety. The equipment: Ohm meter, magnification, lighting, perhaps something to wrap a coil around from a paper clip to a drill bit, to a machine screw. Screw drivers, tweezers and pliers are helpful. Materials: Silica to start as it's easy, cotton later because it can taste better. Get 1mm and 3mm to start. Kanthal is 32 and 30 to start. Wire mesh (400) for a genny. The mechanics: YouTube makes it easy, particularly watching them on your specific device, but the skills do translate and cross over to other builds. Also, the best RBA people on the planet post in ECF every day. Read and watch videos before you build. Targeting: target your coil resistance going in. Check your results EVERY TIME, shorts do occur and for everyone (SAFETY is always number one). Knowledge is your most important skill. It will guide you and protect you. Work your way up: An RSST with a simple 3/4 wrap is as easy as it gets. A kayfun wrap is easy and more about not choking off the juice and air flow than anything. Silica is easier to work with as a starter, cotton better tasting later. A little cotton goes a long way, so I recommend silica to start, then add cotton. Avoid the exotic builds to start, dragon, nano, diamond, etc. Your second build is probably microcoils, but you'll need to add a heat source to your equipment. Perseverance: experiment and gain experience. Only way to get to Vaping Nirvana. Be patient.

Good luck!

You will have to figured out what works best for you. This topic generally gets divided between drippers and gennies, with the dripper fans being by far the most vocal on these forums. I have both, an IGO-W, an AGA-T2 and an RSST. I don't bother much with the dripper, I'm pretty much settled on my gennies.

Many people just don't like genesis style RBA's for their own reasons, perhaps they have trouble coiling them or making SS wicks, I don't know, but for me it was absolutely worth learning how to build them well. I love my RSST, it's my all day vape. What mod will you be using it on?

Personally I would not recommend the AGA-T2 for someone starting out with RBA's. It what I started out with, so I know. It's a hassle and compared to the RSST the flavor isn't as good and it's not really a reliable device.

I love my Aga-T2 - in my desk drawer

go with Bill's Magic Vapor suggestions if you need a genesis tank - RSST

drippers are much easier to build

currently waiting impatiently for my kayfun clone to show up tomorrow afternoon between 2 and 4 (could NOT talk the mailman into changing his route when I met him at the mailbox yesterday)
