New guy AGA T2 flavor question

Hello. I am new/first post.
I just got an AGA T2. I am running it on a provari mini at 3.3v. All I have heard is that the rba produces a lot of vapor and the FLAVOR is great. So I got one. I created a wick with 400 mesh, oxidized it properly, wrapped it with 3/4 coil using 30 kanthal wire, and it works. I'm getting mass vapor, but the flavor is... so so. my question is... is there anything someone can do to get the flavor stronger with an rba?

Thanks,
MSF

I'm pretty new to the AGA and rebuildables myself. I'll have to agree, my first setup gave me LOL vapor production, but disappointing flavor production. It was not until I used a pre-rolled wick and my third attempt of a coil that I got both vapor and flavor. Those people who were tutoring me advised that it could take a tank or two before the wick/coil combo was "seasoned" properly.

I still have not found consistancy with either of my AGA's. Both have had issues of changing resistance ratings of their coils. Vapor and flavor production has been inconsistant, too. I guess I'm still in the learning curve.

They definitely need to break in, doesn't take as long as silica though, for me anyway. I have the AGA-S and it has wicking problems to begin with, even with the plug out and a straw wick. When I hold my PV horizontally, the wick becomes saturated, and that's when I really get what I can only imagine is the best flavor I will ever experience. Many people say they don't have to tip their genny for wicking, I guess I will have to move up to a T2/+ before I can experience that. Actually doesn't really bother me because I naturally hold my PV horizontally no matter what, was just trying not to with the genny in the beginning because I was afraid of flooding.

Straw wicks shouldnt wick better than solid...

The first tank should be darker juice so that a thin layer of gunk builds up in the possible gaps between coil and wick, creating a better heat contact.

The only juice i have flavor problem with now is Boba. Its so good i cant waste it vaping sub perfect flavor. Waiting on a few mesh types to experiment with.

The lack of flavors can come from a few things:

- not enough power
- wick not saturated. Try tilting.
- not enough heat contact, which in a way is equivalent to not enough power: both translate to lack of juice evaporation.

Thats all i can think of right now, hopefully someone else can add to that.

Depending on the ratio of your juice will also make a difference on what mesh wick you use. You can try more wraps or different guage wire. It takes some experimenting to find what works for you. Always allow them a break in period before you just tear it apart and start over. It takes a tank or 2 to get the best flavor.

Hey! I have to really thank you all for replying to my question! What a great forum!

Armed with the replies I have gotten from you, I have purchased some more kanthal wire off of ebay (only $6!) I will try a new coil. After the information you gave me and watching some more vidz on youtube, I think my issue is hot spots. I didn't really take the time to space out the coils and verify they were heating evenly. And I remember the top one being "brighter" than the others, which I now know is called a hot spot.

Again, really appreciate everyone's input on this! Happy Easter everyone!

Don't start over just yet Drain the juice out of the tank and fire the coil unil it's dry. Adjust the voltage unti the coil is glowing and take a needle, dental pick or some other object and move your coils around until the hot spots are gone and you have an even glow. Just adjust them while they're glowing so you can see what your changes are doing.
