Hi all,

I'm a newb vaper thinking of upgrading my EVOD2 setup to some sort of box mod on a budget ($70~). So I've been lurking the REO forum and the ECF forum in general trying to figure out my next step. The REO interests me because of its simplicity, durability and low maintenance. Mini is my speed and size preference. The VV APV & clearo worlds seem to be way too "keeping up with the Joneses" if you know what I mean. Like how the "iStick 20 + Naut Mini" combo used to rule, but now everyone's talking about the "iStick 30/IPV mini + Subtank Mini" as the new ...... for easy Newb upgrading. Arrg! I like the REO but the istick & IPV are more in my budget range.

Plus since I'm interested in vaping max VG, the REO sounds perfect for it. Does this mean that no one uses clearomizers on the REO?? I'm getting some 510 Cisco atomizers from avidvapes because I have a bunch of juice samples and don't want to commit a full tank to them yet. I have to raise the funds/save up a bit for a REO Mini on the reosmods.com, so I'm hoping that someone will part with one of their Minis (preferably purple) on the Classifieds. I keep dithering on whether to REO or not and driving myself batty. Hepl!! :?:

I'll third the people above. I put off trying Reo's over and over. I broke down and got one and I haven't looked back since. I have to force myself to use my other stuff and even then I'm bored with it. Rob's customer service is amazing. His posts here can prove it. Durable 100%. I've dropped mine a couple times and all is well. There is a guy Scydivasloth on YouTube that purposely dropped his on the ground to show how durable it is. I'd say wait for funds for the Reo, if I sell my other stuff I'll be buying a second Reo.

You could always post in the wanted section for what you want

in a nutshell, the difference is auto feed VS manual feed...

tanks rely on auto feeding, this can easily wind up feeding too much and flooding and or leaking, or feeding too little giving dry or even burnt hits... IF you can get an auto feed setup to work ideally for you then you're good, but many struggle with getting a perfect balance

a reo doesn't depend on any of that, you squonk and your wick is fed, not just fed but saturated then evacuated for the perfect saturation each and every time... simple, foolproof and much more consistent. this is why many will say that a BF mod will give you the best vape possible, it's not impossible to get a great tank setup but it is no where near as consistent and foolproof and easy or almost guaranteed as manually feeding your wick is in many cases...

Not sure NO ONE uses a clearo on a REO, but that's not really what it's built for. Reo is a "bottom feeder" - so most people put a "rebuildable atomizer" on it - one that has a hole through the bottom so you just squeeze for more liquid (instead of dripping). And you can put a carto on it - there's a hole in those - and I think you can squeeze-fill ("Squonk") those Cisco's.

SO - if you're interested in rebuilding (coil & wick), which is not hard, then go for the REO.
The thing is - those rebuildables are a fun hobby, AND they're going to get you a world class vape. Whether you get a tiny one for intense flavor or a big airy one for clouds, it's just the best performance. All those tanks being used on iSticks are TRYING to get AS GOOD as a rebuildable dripper. That's the pinnacle of tanks: almost as good as a dripper...
(note - for the big RBA's you need an LP Reo)

Also understand this difference: A Reo is forever. It'll sell for what you paid pretty much, if you change your mind and want a "Grand". And it will work after you drop it. Out a window. Of a speeding car. Maybe even if the car behind you runs it over. An iStick will probably work great for a few months before the 510 gets wiggly, then will die completely within a year. And if you drop it out your car window, well...I wouldn't even brake. I mean, it's a good backup, and a good starter, but it's a low priced import...

Go for the reo! Id suggest a grand as its not as big as you think and the longer battery life and larger bottle more than make up for the extra real estate(only a couple square inches). But thats up to you. And getting one used in the classies is totally possible in that price range. I just scored a grand for $100 over there. And dont forget to check the blems on reosmods.com. if you dont see anything, shoot the owner and maker, redeyedancer(rob) a pm or give him a phone call, dudes very cool and will help you out any way he can

Another yes vote for getting a Reo... And a grand is really not that large. You might want to consider it, since you will gain the benefit of an 18650 battery and double the juice capacity of a mini.

I have 4 grands...and a case full of other stuff. Just off the top of my head the other stuff consists :
2 provari v2s
And Ipv 2
A 7-22
A smok zmax
A sigelei zmax
An mvp2
And no less than 10 tube mechs (nemi's, pipe mod, 4nine, caravella clones. I also have a billow, 3 Russians, and a drawer full of drippers.

ALL of that crap stays in a drawer...while my grands are my go to mods. There simply is none better.

I wish I were in your shoes, with just one device to displace by buying a Reo. If you add it all up, you'll be will ahead by getting the Reo and not dumping THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on a drawer full of devices that you won't use anymore anyhow.

Yes, they can look a bit spendy...until you compare them to the 3 cartons of stinkies you probably bought every month. After 2 months of that you will be well past the cost of a top notch Reo.

Post pics when you get it! We love pics! :D

Thanks,
Geo

You could put a clearo on a Reo - but that would be defeating the major point of the 'feed as needed' feature of a Reo. It eliminates the pain of having to drip into an RDA all the time and turns an atty into a one handed experience. All the flavor and vapor production of an RDA with none of the hassle.

Your Cisco 510's aren't going to go to waste either since you can bottom feed those on a Reo as well.

If you need to low budget things check on blemished mods on reosmods.com. (Good luck trying to locate the blemish. Rob has high standards.) To get access to the classifieds on ECF you have to get verified first. ~> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ember-explained-more-detail-faq-included.html DO NOT submit your application to be verified until after your post count is above 20 or it will be automatically rejected.

Just like many others have said already you will not regret getting a REO. You can get a tank set-up with adjustable everything and still not find the flavor and the vape that you may seek. In addition to the vape quality you will find that a REO is much less hassle that any tank I have ever tried.

You talk about buying multiple cisco atty's so you can sample. On a REO you drop a few drops on the coil/wick and give it vape. If you do not like it you can easily change the wick, you can vape it a bit until it is mostly gone or you can unscrew the atty, rinse and then re-wick and be back to vaping in a few minutes.

I would agree that your best bet it to get verified and stalk the classifieds. You don't need the latest, greatest, sexiest REO on the block you just need to find a well loved REO and a RM2. Under the paint is a solid vape machine that will outlast and out vape any VV device on the market with the right coil/wick.

Good luck with your decision and hope to see you around Reoville.

Subtank on an iStick? Well, that would be... less... than a reo. Less reliable, less durable, less fiddle free, less performance.

It's also less investment... initially. It will be followed by subsequent purchases as you chase the inevitable "upgrade" mods and toppers, all of it in the service of trying to get to the vaping nirvana that a reo could get you to today.

Trust me. I know. Many, many of us in here know. We've taken the red pill and been released from all that.

And yet another vote to save and get a Reo. A blemished mod is quite a bit cheaper and you'll have a good time trying to find said blem... good luck, most are so tiny you would think it was perfectly fine. You won't regret it, and like people said above... if you do regret you can re sale and get back ALL of your money. Maybe minus 5 or 10 bucks tops! I have two Reos, a Lp grand and a Lp Mini 2.1. I love them both dearly. I also recently built a 3d printed PeKo bottom feeder. Thats a whole different ball game though that you can look into the future after you score a Reo! Once you go bottom feed you will NEVER go back! You can also get bottom fed attys almost anywhere. Search for the link to Angecigs.com they have a bottom fed zenith (I think) for $5!
Also check out "catfish atty mods"

Good luck and hope to see you in REOville soon!!

If you are not worried about who will inherit your pv when you are gone. . . get the iStick. The reo is built to last and are darn near indestructible. Even for someone like me. Of course I am going to praise the reo but I have read good things about the iStick. There are so many choices out there. And I think it is wonderful. The right choice is the one you want and the one that will keep you vaping and happy. Good luck to you.

Did I tell you that you can wash the reo in the kitchen sink if it gets dirty?
