How long do 1100mAh batteries last on average? I doubt I'll be puffing on it all day, as I'm not a regular smoker to begin with.

Well, I can tell you I was a heavy smoker (2 packs a day, 40 cigarettes a day) and vape heavily also and a 1000mAh battery lasts a good six hours for me. A light vaper would get far, far more use out of a single charge than I do. Since you vape very lightly, you could easily get an entire day's worth of use out of a single charge.

Far as suppliers, I'm not familiar with the ones in Europe but we do have a section with registered vendors you can find here: Forum Suppliers. Most of the ones I see listed in Europe are in the UK but that'd still at least be closer than the US or China. I do see a lot of our European members talk about this one: Liberty Flights. I don't know anything about them myself. I just see them mentioned often. They're also a registered supplier here so they're a known vender with a good rep.

We also have a general European Forum you could check. Also--and I didn't know this myself until just now--a Dutch language section here: Nederlands. I would guess folks around there would know a great deal more than I would about local vendors. :)

So far my experience with the vape has been good, although it did give me a soar throat. I did smoke on it all day cause I liked the taste, but the vapor feels a bit harsh the next day (12mg nic) and I do feel some mucus buildup. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm not used to PG or that vaping itself is still irritating/harmful to the lungs (although not to the degree of smoking regular cigaretes).

A couple of things. I find Dekang to be harsh in general and really don't care for their liquids. I think they're PG heavy (80/20 usually I think?) and I, myself, find VG to be more "smooth". I usually use a 50/50 mix of the two now.

(PG and VG are the "base" liquids the nicotine and flavors are suspended in. And there's no "best" mix. It's a matter of personal preference. You have to try some different mixes, see what you like.)

Also, you being a very light smoker, you might want to go much lower on your nicotine level. Nicotine can be quit the irritant. I was a heavy smoker and had to lower my nicotine level to no more than 18mg and mostly use 6mg most of the day. Though I do vape quite a bit. :)

Still, PG can irritate the throat for some (does mine if it's over half the mix) and high nicotine definitely can. You could even try some liquids with no nicotine. Since you were such a light smoker. You may not need much nicotine at all. It may be more the "habit" of doing the whole smoking kind of "routine". You just have to try some different things and see what works for you. It's all highly personal.

The other thing to watch out for is when you smoke, you're used to drawing the smoke down into your lungs. Vaping is a more "shallow" inhale. As a smoker, I had a very deep, deep draw (barely exhaled any smoke... my lungs must be lumps of coal by now). I had to adjust to holding the vapor in mouth mouth more and exhaling through my nose. Especially because the vapor is water vapor. And lungs don't seem to like water. They get upset. :)

They say an 1100 should last about 11 hours of vape time but thats subjective. I vape about 4 mls a day and i can go through 2 1100 batts in a day.

I smoked a pack a day and dipped a can a day when I was on tobbaco. When I made the switch I was vaping about 1.5 ML a day and fine, now I'm up to at least 3. I couldn't see how people vaped as much as you say at first, but now I do.

Thank you, very insightful post. I've ordered some new fluids, couple of them are 9mg. I'll look into trying stuff without nicotine as well and perhaps a 50-50 mix, but for some odd reasons dutch vendors don't carry VG juice. I'll have to look around a bit more, but so far I haven't been able to find any (mostly 80-20). The battery lasted me a whole day with ease though, so I'll be sending my other battery/atomizer to my grandfather in the Ukraine to try out (he recently had his leg amputated cause of bad circulation and STILL smokes, albeit not as much as he used to).

Also, I've heard that the VG liquids tend to clog up your atomizer more (I use a Kanger ProTank), would I be better of mixing it with something else, or even look into DIY kits? I guess I'm going to try out the flavors I've ordered first and then decide whether or not a 80-20 mixture is enough to alleviate my throat symptoms. The brand I've ordered from is Liqua, and I've read some good things about them, so perhaps those will be less harsh than the Dekang stuff (the RY4 however is a 30PG-70VG mixture).

Hm. Don't know why they wouldn't have VG. I do know I've seen PEG being discussed by some European vapers. That's a third base liquid. One I know nothing about. Maybe PG is just more popular in Europe than VG?

Ouch! You know, that was one of the things that worried me. Circulation problems. I'm only 51 but was already showing some signs I was headed that way. I don't have the family tendency to high blood pressure so I guess I was risking the other?

You know, I read a lot of folks saying that but I use even 100% VG without much trouble. The clearomizers need to be cleaned more frequently but it's not like I'm burning out coil heads all the time. The big majority of my liquids are 50/50 now and I'm just not having any trouble at all. I can tell some of my coil heads are wearing but they're not that expensive ($3 here, pretty cheap).

DIY on liquids can save you a lot of money. I'm doing my own mixes myself these days. But I'd suggest trying out some different liquids first. Small samples of different things. Get a better idea of what you like and what works best for you before trying to get into DIY. It's a little difficult figuring out what to mix up if you don't yet know what you like. :)

The Dekang I tried was really harsh. I can't stand the stuff myself. Just try ordering small amounts of different combinations at first. See what works. Takes a little experimenting at first to hit on what fits you personally.
