Morning all

I started gaping a month ago after a recommendation from a work colleague and so far have been using skycig. I've now got to the point where the low battery capacity is beyond annoying and have treat myself to an ego-t 1100. However I'm concerned that my upgrade may again be a short lived improvement and again I'll be looking to improve my kit. Is the ego-t a natural upgrade and have people found it sufficient for a long period of time. My order hasn't been dispatched yet, so if it's only going to be a small stepping stone I'm thinking of cancelling it and going for something else.

Hi,

Yes the ego batteries and their staggering amount of variations are usually the next step. I suggest the smoke tech 1.7ohms from madvapes, and also a lot of users have had very good luck from using boge 2.0ohms or lower cartos. I know MadVapes actually sells the boge 2.0s aswell.

Overall the decision you made was not a bad one, but it does take the right gear in the right combination to get a good vaping experience.

Any more questions you have, just ask.

Happy Vaping :)

Save yourself a lot of heartache and pain.
The eGo Twist is a battery that ALL vapers should have in your arsenal. The variable voltage it offers was previously only offered to those willing to spend LARGE amounts of money and now it can be yours for less than $30 per battery. The amount of power that it offers, for the price, and in such a compact size are well worth the money spent.

Make sure you get a genuine JoyEtech eGo C Twist. Your old charger will work fine as long as it has an output of 4.2v and 420mA. Altsmoke.com and Sweet-Vapes.com both sell genuines (as far as I can tell).

Later on, if you want, you can move onward and upward to an APV (and time is on your side if you wait because the market is slowly being taken by storm by a new wave of awesome devices) but in the meantime you will never outgrow an eGo Twist.

If you have any questions regarding vaping please refer to The Vaper's Handbook (link is in my signature) and you will find what you seek. If you do not, for some reason, find what you are looking for please feel free to PM me and I will more than happily answer your question as well as append the Vaper's Handbook to reflect that answer. Thank you and good luck.

I am having the same problem myself man with the v2cigs, I posted a thread yesterday asking for advice on my first real kit, and was told that I cant go wrong with an ego twist. Lots of people chimed in to tell me to start with the twist cause it cant be bad. Here is a link to what I think is the first ego twist kit. You can also buy the single 650/1000 batteries and some mega 3.8 ml dual coil carts here. http://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/e-ci...v-w-ce5-ego-clearomizer-ultimate-starter-kit/
That kit has clearomizers, which I have heard mixed reviews about so im skeptic to try them, but they have some decent options on the cartomizer for ego section. I am ordering some of the smoktech mega dual coil cartomizers at low resistance 1.5 ohms for my ego twist to start me out. From what research I have done I think its a good place to start.

Another big thumbs up for the Twists.

I ordered some Ego Twists after a week of using my cig-alikes and couldn't be happier. They come in 650 and 1,000 mAh sizes with each 100 mAh being about equal to an hour of average vaping. The 650 mAh is an easily pocketable size while the 1,000 mAh is really a bit too long for that purpose.

The Twists have variable voltage which allows you to simply turn the bottom cap to adjust the voltage to whatever you find most desirable. It couldn't be easier to do. Just start low and dial up until you find what you like best.

Get a USB charger and the charger wall adapter even if your current charger will work. Having a charger die without a backup is not a good thing. Try a Mini Vivi Nova as well as some Boge low resistance cartomizers to see which you prefer. You will also want to get a cone for each Twist to cover up the Twist's threads.

The Vivi Nova has replaceable atomizer heads so you should pick up a couple of extras. Alternatively, the heads can be easily rebuilt quite cheaply. There are YouTube videos that show you how to do it.

I am still happily using my cig-alikes. They are what I take with me to use in public so no one mistakes my vaping gear for drug paraphernalia. Taste buds go to sleep after vaping the same juice for awhile so I keep a cig-alike loaded with a juice with a light flavor to use to refresh my palette. I also keep one in the kitchen so I don't have to schlep a Twist in the house and likely misplace it.

Don't worry about outgrowing the Twists. Many people here with multiple expensive mods report that they sitll frequently use their Twists.

Im pretty sure the ego-t batteries have the same ego connection as an ego-c or ego twist. But if you want to keep it and not have to cancel the order, I suggest using 1.5-2.0 ohm cartomizers or atomizers with it. I dont have personal experience with that, but I have been watching alot of Grimm Greem and pbusardo videos on youtube reviewing alot of products. Regular ego batteries are like 3.3 volts sustained I think, and low resistance carts top out at 3.7 volts "roundabout" so you cant get maximum vapeage off of it even with low resistance. The twist go from 3.2-4.8 so you can change cartomizers to higher ohms to try differant products out. Thats the differance between them. If I were you, Id just go with the twist, cause if its not hitting hard enough you can try upping the voltage.

Just figured I'd clear up variable voltage a bit for the newbies! First off, generally when working with voltage, the higher the setting the more flavor and vapor because your coil will be running hotter. When using a carto/atty/clearo/etc., if you take the resistance and add 2 you will have a good starting point (ie. 1.7 ohm cartomizer = 1.7+2=3.7v). You have to remember that different flavors from the same manufacturer can perform better at differing voltages. I have no idea why, but some juices I have that work excellently at 4.2v while others that I ordered at the same time won't go a touch over 3.8v. Also when using a device like the eGo-C Twist, if you set the voltage way too high for the given carto/atty you risk popping the coil right away. Never test or dry burn a fresh carto without fully filling it first or you risk burning the fabric material around the coil that seperates the plastic filler from the hot coil. If you do and the fabric gets a hole burned through it you might as well toss it out right away. As long as the coil is good and wet you can run a carto/atty at pretty high voltages, but higher voltages run your batts dead faster so carry multiple batts when going out.

Best said ive seen so far in the newbie forum.

So the benefit of the twist is to tailor the throat hit to your own preference?

Basically. It's more like you are tuning the performance of the liquid of choice, combined with the resistance of the device of choice. At least with a variable voltage you can search for what gives you the best flavor and throat hit. At a fixed voltage you are just stuck with the combination of a fixed voltage, the device reisistance, and how the liquid works with that set combination.

You could ramp the voltage all the way up and get tons of throat hit - but that could be harsh, overwhelming and obnoxious too. Some times it only takes a small change in voltage to make a big difference in taste.
