I didn't know about risk to aquarium life. Probably just as well that I heard about it, since we have a 90 gallon tank in the garage and have been talking about getting it all going again.

I've been vaping in restaurants after meals (though I try not to draw attention when I do it), in bars (Dallas bars are all non-smoking), etc. Pretty much wherever I want to. I haven't really had any complaints, but I do get a few "What is that" or "is that an e-cig" kind of questions.

The only time I was told not to do it, the bouncer or barback or something at a bar told me I couldn't smoke. I told him I wasn't smoking, and after a very brief discussion, he told me to go see his manager and pointed him out. As soon as the manager saw my eGo, he told me "Go ahead, you're fine". I didn't even have to explain it to him.

I am very cautious when I vape. I too follow smoking rules and continue to do so until the public becomes educated on e-cigs. Everyone at work knows what they are now, and about 6 others use them too. We all follow the smoking rules because we want to respect others. I can't lie though...when I have do use the restroom, I vape like a madman in the stall, lol.

I vape everywhere I go and haven't had any problems yet (almost 2 1/2 years). If I'm in a store or restaurant I hold it in until there's almost no visible vapor so that probably helps. I think it also helps to use a device that looks nothing like a cigarette. These days I use a Monkeyboxx (one of the many bottom feeder box mods) and the only comment I had was when a waitress asked me what "that beautiful wood box" was. Turned out she was a smoker and when I showed her what it was she was really interested and I gave her the ECF web address. The other mod I use when I'm out is a passthrough I got at VAPRLIFE.com attached to a power pack I keep in my pocket or purse. I think people think it's some kind of medical device when they see me sucking on something with a long cord leading to my purse :). Between using something that doesn't look like a cigarette at all and being discrete about not blowing huge clouds of vapor I enjoy vaping in public with, so far, no issues.

I for one do feel a bit self conscious when vaping in public, and so far no one has actually said anything to me however, since my Ego or 510 mega look nothing like a cigarette, and I am clearly inhaling and exhaling some type of "smoke", I feel like ppl can't help but think that I am doing some sort of drug :S. Ironically I feel more comfortable smoking in public than I do vaping ..

As someone who lives in the Dallas area also, I am curious where these places are. I usually go stealth in the bathroom, or the back of a dark movie theater. makes me sound like a perv or something  :pervy: Maybe I'm just too self-conscious to give it a go. :D

Cowboys Red River is the place where the bar-back told me to stop and the manager then told me I was OK. I vaped at a bar named O'Riley's a day or two ago for a couple of hours, and I was standing right at the bar most of the time.

The law in Dallas outlaws smoking in bars, but it specifically mentions both "smoking" and "tobacco". Since I'm not smoking, and I have no tobacco, I always just assume that I'm OK. So far, that's worked fine.

Most non-smokers who hate smoke hate it because of the smell. A few may complain about health risks, but bottom line, their real complaint is the smell. Vaping doesn't smell like smoking, and it doesn't have known health risks, so there aren't many anti-smokers who are going to ...... Especially in bars.

The only time I've asked ahead of time is for the planned meet up. I figured since we're inviting vapers, I wanted to be sure there wouldn't be a problem, so I asked ahead of time.

I vape everywhere I go. Constantly. Some places I'll sort of semi-stealth it, holding in the vapor until it's not so noticeable when exhaled... but I never really try to hide it. Malls. Movie theaters. Bars. Restaurants. Post offices, grocery stores, Wal-Mart, during a traffic stop for speeding... literally everywhere I go, and I travel a LOT for work. This has been all over the states of both Louisiana and Arkansas, and quite a bit of Mississippi and east Texas.

I've never had anyone tell me not to, or give me a negative reaction in any way. I *have* had lots of curious questions, many of which led to real interest (if they were smokers or had a smoker in the family), and I always take the time to at least give a brief explanation & a few URL's. 100% positive.

Of course, I live in what's left of America, so that probably has a lot to do with it ;)

I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley, lived there my first 25 years. Never, ever, will I reside in California again. I don't even like to go back to visit, and I've still got family there.

I vape while riding my bike to work and while walking about town, If a subway platform is fairly empty or above ground I'll vape while waiting for the train. Even though it's just vapor (and most of 0mg in my tank) I'm careful not to get it in anyone's face or let it drift on to them.

The only things that ever happens is now and then someone asks "is that an e-cig?" ... or just as often "is that a blunt?" The 2nd question bugs me a bit since I'm a college instructor and I can't have people thinking that I smoke weed!

I hardly ever use the e-cig on campus, it's not really smoking, but I don't want to even seem like I'm smoking where I might run in to students. (though lots of other profs smoke so... I guess it's just a hold-over from my high school teaching days.) I have no qualms about slipping in to my office (if my office mates are out) closing the door and taking a break... or maybe on the roof if it's just faculty up there.

I too live in the dfw area and most places are cool after the "go talk to the manager". I don't know if its just Dallas wanting to keep the customers or what as my local city is a smoking city (lewisville).. only place iv not busted out my provari/tank Is the local biker bar I go to. Even though I ride I just know bikers mentality and I'm sure they woundnt mind but its more what if the local pd came in and what not. Now I do vape in traffic on my Harley and iv been looked at funny and asked if they can have a "hit" off my pipe. Side not can't wait for the meet. I got the old lady game so its on lol..

Well I started last week with an 510-t I work in a building which houses 5 different companies. People know I am a regular smoker, like each hour you can find me downstairs. But now they were looking like what the hell is he doing now. And with the blue led if you are sitting inyour car during the evening, it's funny to see people actually trying to figure out what you are doing. I've had some faces also in traffic jams that people were thinking of smoking what you can buy freely in the netherlands

You can also buy the same stuff legally in Cali, especially in the Bay Area, for medicinal purposes. That itself doesn't bug me but, as in my first post, people now use the same model PV's that are common as "e cigs" for vaping canibus. As I said in my first post, it has caught on and many people are assuming that I am smoking/vaping canibus, both because they don't recognize the device I am using, but also because they recognize the device I am using, but for another industry.

I don't really care that people use these for canibus, I really don't have a strong oppinion either way, I just don't like getting lumped into that whole idea I am doing that in public from both the unknowing, and the knowing.

I've had issues. At first my boss allowed me to discretely vape my pv at work, then two coworkers got curious, bought their own mods and started vaping. Then one of the top bosses noticed them vaping and banned them for use inside the building, so now we have to go stand outside with other smokers. I was also outside my community college one day and one of the bicycle cops questioned me about it. Once I explained it to him, he believed me that it wasn't something illegal but he told me to stand far away from the building entrance, stating due to the 'perception others might have'

Well, that's interesting. And good luck with your vaping. Really that's great if you have quit smoking!

On this forum we don't discuss the other thing.
I am sorry I brought it up. It just is prevalent in my area and they use the same PV's which can cause make people to make assumptions that can make you feel judged, hence why I made the thread.
