Hey Everyone how are yall! So I had a quick question, I am getting interested in dripping i was at a head shop the other day amd hit a dripper and it was Ahmazeingness (Yes intentional)

Sooo, my question is, What in fact is the best way to get into dripping, I am all about low maintainence and I am afraid to get into rebuildables, so I would like some advice, I need product information (The dumbed down version)

I am currently on an Istick50w Variable mod, and an Atlantis Sub Ohm tank (Which i also am in love with)

What do I need to buy and what do I need to start.

Thanks everyone for being so fantastic.

I am all about low maintainence

If that's truly the case, then drippers are probably not for you.

You will need:

kanthal - 24, 26, 28 guage depending on what you want to build
cotton wicking
screw drivers or drill bits - to wraps your coils. 2mm - 3.5mm
tweezers
small blow torch
needle-nose pliers
ohm meter - to check that you have attained the desired resistance of your coil and do not have a short.
patience and lots of practice

Once I found dripping, all my tanks started collecting dust. It may seem a bit intimidating to start but youtube can be a great way to learn about dripping. While it is true you need some extra items to start with, once you do a couple of coils, it becomes almost second nature. You will find your coils last a lot longer than storebought coils, too.

Take it slow, check out the hours and hours of youtube videos, learn a little about how to be safe with batteries and mods, but most of all, enjoy your next step in vaping.

Well my atlantis works for almost a week or two, and i think I get into it, Please someone reccomend an atomizer

I have coils that are three months old. The only reason I change them is because I get bored.

Do not set yourself up for failure. Do the research. If you still want to try your hand at rebuilding, make sure you have the minimum equipment required as mentioned by another poster here.

As to what to recommend, would need to know what you are looking for. Great flavor, impressive clouds or a little of both. Knowing flavor is subjective, you may have to just try some atomizers for yourself. Though not condoning clones, they do give you the opportunity to try out some different atomizers for a low amount of cash.

My first dripper was a Plume Veil. Not to hard to build and at 0.5 ohms, the flavor was OK and it did produce some clouds. Almost every day, a new atomizer is designed. Read about them here or on any vape suppliers web site, then google them for reviews. Remember, youtube is your friend.

The guage denotes the thickness and therefore the resistance. I mostly use 26 or 24
I strongly recommend you watch a bunch of videos, and have a really good read up here before even buying any equipment.
The Dark horse is a cloud chasing atty with MASSIVE airflow. You may want to start with something less extreme until you have cut your teeth. I recommend a Tugboat V2 to start, or if you want big airflow from the go an authentic Mutation X V3 has a great price point.

I would recommend you look for either an atty that is single coil or one that can be built with either single OR dual coils. You do NOT want to start out with a dual coil atty, it doesn't double the difficulty, it makes it about about 5 times more difficult. Like everyone says, watched lots of videos, you'll soon get a feel for what is involved. Your current mod is just fine.

When I wanted to dip my toe into it, I bought an igo-L, which is an inexpensive, simple little single-coil atty. It's a nice size for building on but small enough for flavor. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I wasn't sure I would like the hassle of dripping. Now I have two of them, and I use them on the weekends when I'm drinking my coffee for liquids I don't want to commit to a tank or squonk bottle, like right now.

If you want to 'cloud chase' i could reccomend the Mutation X series, the models i have seen all offer single and dual coil options for ariflow. The seperated screw points are also easy for your first ventures into dual coils as well! They are usually under $40 most places (I think the v4 is going for ~ 35 at my local B&M) however they aren't really the most flavorful atomizers.

Pick up something inexpensive.

Wick: Japanese Cotton (easy to use, wonderful flavor)
Wire: Personal preference (I like 27 and 30g)
Drip tip: Personal preference.
Tweezers and pliers
Drill bit set or a coil winding tool (a few sites make a rod that tapers off, it allows you to build using 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, and 3.5mm...I got mine for $2)

Lots of good info in here already, so I'll stick to a few points.

Make sure you take the time to read the various stickies and blogs on battery safety, Ohm's law (both critical for safety and working knowledge) and any of the myriad other stickies dedicated to rebuilding. It's a lot to take in, but the reality of rebuilding is ultimately very simple.

As you've seen at this point, dripping is hardly a convenient pursuit, but you were right on the money thinking along the lines of it being a pastime. If you like to work with your hands and like to tinker, you've got a wonderful hobby to explore.

On the same token, dripping offers other benefits that absolutely make the effort worthwhile, and if you do go with cotton wicks, you can keep that perfect coil you never want to die running for a long, long time. I find drippers more convenient than tank systems, but I know I'm a big time minority.

Finally - keep asking questions. Be curious! But be patient... ask them BEFORE you try. Some of us here are militant about safety, and while you'll always get great information from some really nice and knowledgeable people, many are quick to bluntly point out reckless stupidity. :D

Personally, my drippers are my most maintenance free attys. My kayfun and orchid gunk up and I have to change the cotton daily. My gennys...well they are gennys. Lol! My drippers, however... I put coils and cotton in them and puff till my cotton gets dirty or I change flavors, and it's 10x easier to change the cotton. The only trouble I ever had was trying to get 2 coils to burn exactly alike. It took me 2 or 3 tries, then I figured it out. That being said, I am a tinkerer by nature. I have always been good at taking things apart and putting them back together. Building RBA's/RDA's was always easy for me. Some people have an ungodly amount of trouble with it though. Do your research like everyone here has said. Then ask yourself... "Do I need a new hobby?"

+1
And keep back up kit to vape on whilst building. If you get frustrated as we all have in building, you can still vape on :)
